I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now. If I guy happens to live in a small town with a small high school, exactly what would he need to do in order to get respect?
Barkett had similar #s back in 2009 with 4,200 yards and that was impressive but he ran the a lot. He was not overly big at 5-10,205. He was also not lighting fast with a 4.7/40. I could see some skepticism.
DB, by comparison, ran for 4,700 yds on almost 100 less carries. Would he need 5,000 yards, 400 ypg? Does he have legit speed? At the Penn State elite camp, he had the fastest time at 4.37/40? Is it legit? Well college coaches asked him to give up baseball and run track last year. He was district champion in both the 100 and 200. He made it to the semi-finals in states. So exactly how fast would he have to run to impress? Strong enough? See his #s in the link below.

Interestingly, only 1 RB ran a faster 40 in the NFL combine last year and he was 5-7, 176#. Only 9 players had a better long jump.

This is not a prediction on what he will do at Lehigh. It’s simply a question on how much does one need to do when playing at a small school.
