As the summer leagues wrap up, it certainly wasn’t the banner year that last summer was for Lehigh guys, but a few guys put together nice stat lines. Below is a summary of a few returners I took the time to look up.
Garzillo (Cape Cod League) – struggled quite a bit against the best competition in the country. Ended the year hitting .232 with 37 strikeouts and just 22 hits in 95 at bats. Hopefully he can use it as a learning experience and have a huge sr year to get his pro prospects back on track.
Donnelly (ACBL) – Missed a few weeks at the beginning and end of the year, and ended up hitting .271 in 85 at bats.
Bleming (ACBL) – hopefully he can breakout next spring as he had a solid summer. It looks like he played every day at shortstop and hit .281 with only 2 errors in 132 chances. It would be great if he could win the everyday job at short as a soph and but together a solid year as a two way player.
Nalesnik (ACBL) – hit .283 in 60 at bats but didn’t play at all after July 7th. Not sure if by choice or injury.
Kulp (ACBL) – had an excellent 1.88 ERA and 16 K’s in 14 innings. Didn’t pitch after July 13th.
Peter Moore (ACBL) – 7.1 ERA in 34 innings.
John Scarr (ACBL) – Had a nice summer hitting .303 and finished 5th in the league with 21 RBIs in 34 games.
Kevin Boswick (Coastal Plains) – 3.56 ERA with 43 K’s in 30 innings.
Kevin Long (Northwoods) – 4.6 ERA with 26 K’s in 33 innings. Northwoods is a tough league, so not a bad summer overall.
Connor Donavon (Northwoods) – 3.73 ERA with 33 K’s in 41 innings.
