I personally think that focusing on aberrations is a dangerous way to evaluate a program. The game yesterday in Durham was an aberration. New Hampshire’s play against Dartmouth was an aberration. Fordham’s play against Lehigh was an aberration. Lehigh’s play against Duke (yes that game) was probably an aberration. They happen and sometimes the timing is bad.
With that being said evaluations should be based on an entire body of work. This team has come a long way in 2 years. It can be argued that this was the most prolific offense in Lehigh history and it should remain largely intact for next season. It was argued that if the defense could hold the opposition to less than 35 points, we win. Going into this game, we gave up on average 23 pts/game and it would be far less if you discounted garbage time, perhaps the best in the PL. Both the coaches and the players deserve a boatload of credit for that. Film will be reviewed. Adjustments will be made. Competitions for positions, esp on defense will open up. Recruiting we get done and we keep this train going in the right direction.
Go Lehigh!!
