I don’t know the exact connection between the Express-Times and the Harrisburg Patriot news, but before the creation of Lehigh-Valley-Live Website both newspapers shared the Penn-live website (there are many other newspaper websites with the same format(and logon) XXXlive (Michigan, Alabama, Oregon, NewJersey{the Star Ledger})
The Patriot news for a long time, up to maybe 15 years ago, covered a lot of “local” college football. 8-10 reporters, (some would cover Fri nite football first) They would have 3 guys at Penn State. 1 at another local big time school, usually Pitt or Temple, maybe once a year at Md, Syracuse, Rutgers, Army). 1 for 1AA, mostly Bucknell, also, Lehigh, Laf, Penn, Nova, Del- usually some one went to Leh-Laf. 1 or 2 for PSAC 1-3 for D3. Then they decided to cut football coverage back to 6 reporters, all cover PSU.
But it has degenerated since. They decided to go to 3 days a week. Tue-Thur-Sun, copying the New Orleans Times-Picayune. I think I kept subscribing only because of the comics. But they screwed up when I took an extended vacation, so the hell with them. Heck of a thing when the capital of Pa no longer has a daily paper.
