For anyone who thinks Lawrenceville, NJ (Rider) will be a welcomed stop along the road that sees us traveling to Richmond, Philadelphia (St. Joe’s) and Dayton, think again. Tonight’s contest one hour from home promises to be a tough one. Give a listen to what Coach Stansbury (Mississippi State) had to say in his post game interview following the Bulldogs opening nigh loss to Rider last week.

Thoughts that still ring in the ear………

"We had no answer for them"
"We were exhausted"
"Transition baskets were huge"
"They’re a very good team"
"They spread us out"
"They could handle it, pass it, and shoot it"
"They were very good off the dribble"
"They were very difficult to guard"
"They (Ringgold and Gadson) killed us…absolutely killed us"

The Broncs hit 30 of their 59 shots (.508) and 10 of 18 from deep (.625) while turning it over just 6 times (LU had 26 miscues vs Richmond). They also swiped the ball five times and scored 20 off turnovers. They out-rebounded Mississippi State 39 to 38 and scored 20 in the paint. Three of their iron-men went 39, 39 and 37 minutes.

Tonight the Broncs will trot out four starters who stand 6’6" or more including the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, senior PG Ryan Thompson. His 2008-09 numbers: 18 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.2 apg, .422 3FG%, .509 FG%, 56 Steals. He wasn’t always a PG. Check out the story below:
