Don’t be too quick to dispatch Chapple. The soph qb has led them to two straight victories, albeit doing it in a different fashion than Hatch- this time highlighting their running game. Over the past two weeks (wins of Cornell and Lafayette), the tailback combo of Gordon and Scales have combined for 457 yards on 52 carries good for 8.8 yard per rush. Chapple has passed only when needed and connected on 22 of 46 and 2 TDs. With wind and some left over rain in the forecast, I doubt Harvard will vary their approach much this weekend, that is: run until Lehigh can prove its able to stop them. On the other side of the ball, Harvard’s defense against the run has been good to very good, allowing an average of only 87.5 yards per game on 2.7 yards per carry. Sounds like this weekend’s game will be won or loss in the trenches. Winnable? Yes, and by the team who wins the both the turnover and time of possession game.
