I grew up in Central Pa.’s Susquehanna Valley (Milton) and can attest to it’s historic lack of quality h.s. basketball. The only great college player ever, to my knowlege, to come out of that area is Tom McMillen (Mansfield-Maryland-NBA-Congress). Williamsport is the only semi-urban area that is competitive state wide. The Millionairs as they are called, are ranked state wide this year and beat Central Mountain (non-league game) by 20. Renninger had 20. Central Mountain did play two other bigger schools (Altoona & State College) with mixed results. The rest of the schedule is against AA & AAA competition in a very dead basketball region.
