You are right big wrestling and football towns. CJ is a PL once in lifetime type of player and I certainly am not comparing the two. I do think he can score in the PL and Williamsport threw the kitchen sink at Renninger when they played. Williamsport’s Coach Taylor stated, “the Renninger kid is a handful, to do what he did against double and triple teams is very impressive.” He strengths are his physicality, and athletic ability. He passes and scores with his non-dominate hand better than any player I have ever seen in High school. He will have to adapt to the height of the D1 level and become a more consistent 3 point shooter, although his numbers this year are good. Teams backed so far off him to stop penetration in the four games I did that I thought he should have hit more threes. I also heard that Gerry McNamara came to a game this year and watched him play. I heard Syracuse told him if he was 6’3 or bigger they would have offered but instead offered a preferred walk-on. This I cannot prove. I can’t wait to see what happens.
