The ’04 championship game was played at Stabler, even though the entire rest of the
tournament was played at the Showplace Arena. ESPN, which was then airing the PL
title game, mandated that the game be played at the higher seed’s home court so there
would be a good crowd.
By the way, the3 seed has made the title game seven times, but never won. The last 3 seed to play
for the championship was Lafayette in 2010. We all know how and where that ended
