Dave mixed up the opening series with runs and safe short passes and they looked like they were clicking on all cylinders. It seemed like Monmouth eventually packed the box a bit to take that phase of the game away and dared Colvin to throw long. Although there were moments of success, he was very inconsistent. The fact that 3 offensive linemen (including Haggins) got hurt, did not help at all. Colvin absolutely has a strong arm but he moves his feet too much. We need to throw on 1st down more to keep the defenses honest. A win is a win…we move on.
BTW, Peery’s FG kicking has not gotten any more accurate but his leg has sure gotten stronger. Did anyone else notice the # of kicks in the endzone?
