Nolan Apers, A, Hill Academy (Ont.) has made a verbal commitment to Lehigh. He’s a strong left handed attackman, who has the ability to play inside and outside. Great finish around the net and a heavy shot from the outside to spread the defense. Nolan played Jr A Box Lacrosse for the Burlington Chiefs this summer as a rookie

Brandon Plante
July 31, 2012 at 8:25 pm #6337Did you notice how small he is? A jitterbug. Also a wrestler.
July 31, 2012 at 9:10 pm #6338He must be in a growth spurt though Rich. I see him currently listed at 5-7, 160 but remember he is only a rsing junior.
He was a very good wrestler, finishing 6th in the state as a freshman at 112. He apparently gave up the sport for lacrosse. Notice however how much bigger he has gotten in the last year or so.
I think this may be a very good pickup. I like to follow these kids in HS and see how they progress before beginning their journey to Lehigh.
August 5, 2012 at 4:12 am #6368Plante did get 6th in MD Wrestling States his freshman year, but it not was because of a loss. He, unfortunately, was in the semi-final match (which he was supposed to win) and missed the weigh in by 1oz. (.1lbs) and was automatically dropped to 6th place.
He’s a hard worker and will no doubt be a great addition to the Lehigh lacrosse family.
August 5, 2012 at 3:08 pm #6370We look forward to his arrival. He has made a fine choice of schools. I hope he finds some time to attend Lehigh’s wrestling matches. We should be one of the Top 10 teams in the nation during his stay. I suspect the same can be said about lacrosse too.
August 5, 2012 at 9:10 pm #6373Thank you! Brandon(Bumpy) spent 11 years traveling all over the Northeast and Midwest wrestling circut. He spent many weekends in PA wrestling. He made a decision not to wrestle last year because of the Lax recruiting process. Maybe he’ll get back on the mat before high school ends, either way we (his brother, mom and dad) we be supporting all of Lehigh’s athletics (especially Lax and wrestling). Again, thank you so much for the warm welcome.
August 5, 2012 at 11:40 pm #6375You are quite welcome. I’ll try to follow Brandon’s progress over his last 2 years of HS but I would appreciate if you can post some updates here. Feel free to post on any of the topics listed here. The more the merrier. Again, welcome to the Lehigh family.
August 6, 2012 at 12:15 am #6376Football starts next week for Bump and fall Lax is coming also. Will do. Thank you!
August 6, 2012 at 1:38 pm #6378To echo TMH welcome to our family. I may be a bit biased but you could not have chosen a better school or a better coach.
