BU put down AU tonight and it’s now official: LU claims the #2 seed in the upcoming tournament (win or lose on Saturday) and will open up play at Stabler against Colgate on Wednesday, February 29th. CJ’s game winning 3 against Bucknell (giving us a 1-1 record against the Bison compared to AU’s 0-2 record) could be the difference and the comfort needed should the unthinkable happen on Saturday whereby we lose to Army and American upends Lafayette resulting in matching 10-4 records for both us and AU.
Congrats Guys!
See you at West Point on Saturday.
February 24, 2012 at 10:29 am #5040It looks like a tight race. LU can’t choke at Army or any game for that matter.
February 24, 2012 at 12:01 pm #5042Path to tourney looks like gate as 65 mentioned at home, then probably American at home if we beat gate, then probably BU at BU if we beat American(not easy proposition)….we’re playing well however, like the momentum we’re building, would like to see good effort on saturday despite game being potentially meaningless….like to keep good times rolling…
also – give MM credit for BU, kid stepped up huge in big spot for team in must win situation..

Seeds 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are set (see below). What remains to be decided in Saturday’s final day of regular season action is who gets the 3rd and 4th poll positions. The participants are AU and HC. Simply, if AU wins or HC loses, the 3rd spot goes to AU. If, on the other hand, should AU lose and HC win, the 3rd seed goes to HC. So what you say? Well, amusing we were to win our first game against CU (I know, I know, nothing is certain), the question becomes, as a fan of LU b’ball, who would you rather face in our second game, the winner of the AU/Army game or the winner of the HC/Army game. I’d take the former, knowing the way HC is playing at present. That would also put HC in the BU bracket with a likely match-up in a Round Two game out in Lewisburg. Hey, who said Saturday’s games are meaningless?! One key match-up will be LC @ AU and it can be seen on CBS Sports Network at 4pm, tomorrow.
Seeds
1 BU
2 LU
3 ??
4 ??
5 LC
6 Army
7 CU
8 NavyPoll Question: Who will be attending our Round One game against Colgate? Maybe a bunch of us can get together prior to the opening tip.
February 24, 2012 at 4:58 pm #5049I think AU will thump LC making this a moot point, but like you I’d much rather face American at Stabler than HC. The Crusaders are a giant wild card.
February 24, 2012 at 7:25 pm #505365 – Not sure about making to Round One vs CU, but a bunch of us alumni from 06-07 are planning to be there for the semis on the 3rd (again, assuming a win, like you said). We might try to get a little tailgate going – we’ll keep you posted
February 24, 2012 at 7:47 pm #5056LU06 – so I heard from your friend and mine, AL. Keep me in the loop.
PS Enjoyed your posts on BU Board
February 25, 2012 at 1:00 am #5061Boy I wish I could go to round 1 or round 2(if applicable), but both seem really unlikely, which is depressing. If they make it to the finals, I’m going to bust it hard to make sure I’m either at LU or at BU for that game. I was at 03 championship game, had a wedding the night of the ’10 game, and still can’t believe I missed that game vs the repards….
