While looking for new names on roster did not notice names off. Cal qb Mills and Colo. db Pullara both off roster. we seem to lose some every year. Mills would not have played qb for a long while if ever but from video he is a verquick and good athlete. Oh, well. Pullara not much info .
It would be nice once in a while for us to pick up some kids instead of losing them
June 30, 2009 at 12:51 am #442Tough to keep any QB who really wants to play QB with Clark and Lum in front. I thought we did pick up one or two guys the other week, although may have been walk on recruits.
June 30, 2009 at 11:32 am #443you got a good one coming-transfer.

Well that comment is a bit of a tease. If not a name, how about divulging the position or prior school?
June 30, 2009 at 9:12 pm #445We did pick up some walk ons and 1 recruit, Andrews. Iwould like just once in a while to add a kid who originally was announced for Some other school. Last one I recall Is Wickware, who originally took a DivII schollie.
Colorless raider’s post surely nice if true. We should round up a posse and make him listen to Punk rock until he spills what he knows
June 30, 2009 at 11:16 pm #446OK,OK but the story is that we are a loser here. I think that you are getting a HUGE OL from Cinci. Glue: business school…Check Gate archives.
June 30, 2009 at 11:34 pm #447Thanks cr ,will now call off the posse
July 1, 2009 at 12:39 am #448cr referring to a post on Gate board concerning a OL transfer from U of Cinci, toGate but not enuf of his credits would transfer. " business", I assume refers to the fact that we have a business school.
Nothing here to indicate that he can or would transfer to LU, but I guess we shall see in all good time
July 1, 2009 at 1:43 am #449Took a look at U of C site, all of their OL is huge
July 1, 2009 at 2:27 am #450Anyone notice….since 2006 we’ve recruited eight players from Colorado west to California and six are gone (Aaron, Brallier, Shaw, Jefferson, Mills and Pullara.) Of the other two, Taylor and Flynn, Taylor has family ties. Hopefully Flynn, who seems to have great potential, will stick with it.
July 1, 2009 at 11:54 pm #451We have a 100% retention rate for Nevada
Of all of those kids Shaw was toughest loss, a potential super star .We mayindeed have picked up a recruit from Gate’s class.
July 2, 2009 at 2:37 am #453Walker, of course…my oversight. Is he going to be okay for the entire season. Sure need him. Incidentally, Shaw didn’t play football did he….track I think.
July 2, 2009 at 2:53 am #454Yup, track scholarship to one of the Pac-10 schools.
July 2, 2009 at 2:05 pm #455Of course, my concern is that west coast recruits have to be handled in a special way. Even keeping 3 out of 9 can hardly be considered successful. Coen ought to talk to Brett Reed…he seems to have success in retaining his west coast players. Sure would like to see Flynn come here and stay.
July 2, 2009 at 2:33 pm #456One way to attract WC recruits is to play a (costly) game out there so that their families can see them play collegiately. In BB we were playing Washington since we had some recruits from that state.
It would be very, very cool to see Lehigh travel out west to play a school like Cal Poly.
