besides letting bumps and bruises heal, time off needed IMHO for the O.It has lost the crispness evident at Colgate. Still very good but not as dominant as it needs to be for towson. D has been getting better every week peaking now at the most opportune time. Time for kids to refocus on the goal :!:

We did well coming out of our last bye week. I think the opposing DCs are getting better at scheming against our passing attack, but we are better able to run. Sherman and Fitz offer a nice change of pace.

The defense, especially the front seven, has been playing at a level nearly equal to some of the Higgins teams.

If we get past Towson, the next weekend will be a real logjam for Lehigh fans. On December 9th, Penn State, the defending NCAA champs, are coming to Lehigh for the 100th wrestling dual meet between the two schools.

    Multiple issues:

    1) Question is whether Drwal can be back in two weeks. Apparent hip pointer can be painful. Even if he’s back, will it be 100 percent?

    2) Can Colvin throw? Didn’t look very promising. He seems to have an odd throwing motion. Third-stringer looked much more fluid in warm-ups, but he’s a lefty.

    3) I think LU got screwed not having a home game.

    4) Looking at Towson’s stat sheets, seems like it’s a good matchup for Lehigh. They’ve given up a lot of points — ranked 50th in rush D, 68th in pass D; beat a Colgate team badly that did not have Eachus and outlasted a couple of other teams in high-scoring games. They lost to Delaware.

Towson’s strength is its ground game, with a good freshman RB and a QB (transfer from Holy Cross who played at a JUCO last year) who gained 450 yards on the ground. Seems reminiscent of Colgate. That said, RB Terrance West is 5-11, 222, and could be bruising.

Drwal’s hip minor he will be fine taken out as a precaution.

All yr TU’s D has been a high scoring O. They are not as bad as FU but unlikely they will be able to pressure chris. We will score. Q is whether we can contain west.

I agree D has improved markedly since the beginning of the season even with the injuries at LB. 2ndary more cohesive. Front 7 deep and good.

Gang tackling West will be priority one. I envision a defensive scheme similar to what we did to Colgate and Eachus last year at Goodman. Poor Nate didn’t know what hit him and we forced their back up QB to throw, which he couldn’t. With their ground game, that will be their #1 defense against us–keeping the ball away from our offense. Penetrating D needs to force some TO’s.
