Did anyone else notice that the freshman have been added to the roster on the website for the upcoming season, but B.J. Bailey’s name does not appear? I hope it’s something to do with his not becoming eligible until the spring semester, but even with that, it’s still a bit odd. Especially considering he has been a member of the program for about 9 months now. Any info out there?

Frosh are roster eligible once enrolled , Transfer cannot be on roster until eligible, which for him is next semester

There are no PL or NCAA rules as to who can be listed on a roster – only rules on who can travel. Many teams list players who are redshirting on their rosters for the whole redshirt year. For example, Colgate showed Brandenburg on their roster this past year and Bucknell lists Fitzpatrick on the 2010-11 roster. And American has shown all three of their transfers on their roster over the past 18 months.

Having said that, Bailey is still listed as an enrolled LU student so it is probably just a decision by someone in the SID office to not list him.

Not sure of his sources, but Hooptime has some bad news regarding Bailey:

"One transfer who will not make a difference this season is B.J. Bailey, a former South Jersey prep player of the year who transferred to Lehigh after one semester at Boston University.

Bailey, who would be eligible to join the Mountain Hawks on the floor at the end of the fall semester is not expected to play this season after suffering what Lehigh coach Brett Reed said were a number of bad concussions. According to Reed, Bailey’s hoops future is in doubt."

Sad news if true. Hope, even if only for his sake, he can make a comeback and have a productive college career.

So sorry to hear this. I had a bad feeling when his name was not on the roster. Wishing him the best.

Hope Bailey can recover. Best luck for him at LU.
