Who do you think will be next years starters and 2 deep? Any rising sophomores under the radar? 5th year seniors coming back?
Thought this would make a good discussion topic now that the season is over. Here is my take on it, what do you all think?
lot of uncertainty with the OL in my opinion although Andy has always had depth here, Liebler and McKenna are back and should start, Vuono, Ganoe and AJ Hood were on the 2 deep this year and should have inside track to start. Might one of the other rising sophs step up? Lippincott saw time on special teams this year.
QB seems to be set with Lum and Colvin, Bialkowski ready to compete?
FB also seems set with Farrell and Aruda
TE would look to be Wickware who saw a lot of time this year and Haggins
RB, Sherman and Barket have inside track, don’t know much about the others
WR, Drwal and Spadola are a lock, who will be the third receiver, Gordon saw a lot of time in 2009 but had some injuries this year, Soepresetyo got some playing time this year, Soto and Jefferson got on the field against Delaware, Pierre, Kurfis and Idzik were highly regarded, Fitz looks to be a slot guy when we go five wide, lot of depth here and with Drwal and Spadola should be a real strength
Even more turnover with the DBs, entire crew is graduating, Andrews, Johnson and Littlejohn should start at 3 of the spots, I have no clue for the other safety. O’Brien got some playing time this year. Might Newton move to safety? Should be open competition for the 2 deep spots.
LB continues to be a strength (see WR), Groome, Greene, Mihal, Rivas, Newton competing for 4 spots unless Newton moves to safety (which I would like to see). Loughery, Gordon, Boyko on 2 deep. Boyko could compete for starter. Don’t know much about the rising sophs.
Will miss Douk and Flizak on the DL but Knapp, Chagani and Connare should step in fine. Winnet back for 6th year would help since we rotate these guys a lot. Bianchi also. Not a lot of depth returning here, which rising sophs are ready for playing time? Maybe a true frosh gets some time here.
Special teams, Smith a lock at punter, Peery has inside track for place kicking with competition from Divers. Lechner and Belair listed as long snappers. Lum was holder this year, time to break in someone else, Bialkowski? All the kick returners graduated, who will fill in here, Jarvis? Maybe a hot shot Frosh?
What do you think, post you ideas!
