“The recruitment of 2013 D12 Warriors PG Joseph Chealey is expanding. New offers from Yale, Lehigh, ECU, Georgia St & College of Charleston.”

Chealey also reportedly has offers from Tulane, UTEP, Florida Atlantic, St Peters, Winthrop, and a couple others.

Two more names per twitter, fraternal las vegas twin guards, marcus and malcolm allen. Like some of our guys we’ve gone after, this might be a bit of a reach, as they appear anyway(I’ve not done ton of research yet) to have some higher level offers.

Have we gone a lot higher then usual with offers or do folks think we’ve 0operated pretty standard? By Higher, I mean, have we offered and put in work on guys we knew were real real reaches…more so then usual? I don’t have an answer, which is why I’m asking for opinions. Wondering if this is why we have no one in the cupboard yet.

Brett is probably reaching on quite a few potential recruits but I would be disappointed if he didn’t.  I’m sure Bucknell reached quite a bit and maybe landed one or 2. Davidson likely stepped it up too especially during the Stephan Curry era.

I truly believe that Lehigh is very marketable right now. The team is on the map. We offer superb academics and probably the nicest campus I’ve ever visited. Who knows exactly what attracts anyone to a school.

I wish him good luck in his pursuits.

Agree, got to strike when iron is hot, no doubt about it.

Cross another one off the list, worthington just named his final 5: butler, byu, davidson, penn, and princeton.

Also, I have talked about the chuku/devon thomas friendship, having played for metro boston aau and at kua together. Also throw in greg senat, who we have offered, as another metro boston and nengland prep school guy who is friends with both thomas and chuku. Man, I would love if chuku locks them both up and gets them to follow him to LU.

per espn, rj curington has offers from maryland, tulane, and uab. espn does not have us s having offered, not to say we havent, but we are not listed and it seems clear that he is getting offers from bigger conferences.

Agree that it seems like Dr Reed is offering and going after more high level guys than he has in the past.  I also think that with there being more information on mid-major recruiting in general, and increased attention paid to Lehigh after last March’s win – that it could be that our offers are just being reported more often than in years past.  We may have been offering high major guys for years but the recruiting sites and players didn’t even think it worth the time to mention LU.

It does make you sweat a bit as you see all these guys come off the board, including a number to our PL brethren and other like minded institutions and programs.  Boykins, Alstork, Owona, Senat, and a number of other really interesting guys are still out there though.  The guys with high major offers like Foster, Currington, Hayes are obviously incredibly long shots – but you never know.

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out.  It would certainly be nice to see someone pick LU over a slew of other offers though, and show that the program is gaining some traction after last year.

    Colorado

    Drake

    Kansas State

    Nebraska

    Richmond

    Lehigh

SBum – agreed. I have heard Senat had a nice summer, and again, maybe Chuku can recruit bring him on board and recruit for Reid and co. Iwundi, appears a long shot as well, per the above.

Interesting update on Austin Price here:

    http://fansided150.com/2012/08/08/basketball-recruiting-austin-price-demanding-attention/

Strange that this article doesn’t mention an Iowa offer that is mentioned on Price’s rivals page – http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1390946.  As per the rivals article he seems very interested in Iowa.  It does seem like LU is going after Price very hard, and may be in the mix if things don’t work out with the BCS schools.

I think chances are looking pretty slim for Iwundu. He has been playing pretty well all summer and it sounds like his top 3 is Kansas State, Colorado, and Drake and those are the only schools he plans on visiting as of now. He would be interested in Texas Tech, GT, or SMU if any offer. LU is consistently listed as a school that offered him on all the sites, but Iwundu never seems to mention it as a legitimate possibility.

Although you never know and there is always a chance until the LOI is signed.
