At this point it looks like I’ll be attending the 1/6 Loyola game and the 1/9 American game. I’m looking forward to both games.

I’m gonna go to UVA for sure. Sadly, I don’t think I’m gonna make cuse. Really wanted to see Carrier Dome. Stupid real life…

2016 Pomeroy pre-season ratings are up. We are at 120. Higher than I expected. Of course this means nothing but big expectations at this point.

    Syracuse 22. Virginia 3. Purdue 22.

    BosU 124
    Bucky 151
    Army 168
    Amer 183
    Loyl 231
    Pards 238
    HC 258
    Midys 269
    Gate 280

    Let the games begin!

A few more points of interest. KenPom has the PL as the #17 conference, up from #23 at finish of last season. Our matchups with Yale and Columbia will be big, too. They are considered 2 of the 3 favorites (with Princeton) to win the IL on most sources. IL shows as #15 at this point.
Stony Brook appears to be the favorite in the AEC; MSM and Bobby Mo are favorites in NEC, and Canisius is near the top of the MAAC.
    Here’s to a big year!!

    Re: Syracuse

LU Ticket Office confirms there will be NO ticket allotment for the average fan. Seats behind the bench will, of course, be made available to player family members and LU Administration. The rest of us are encouraged to hit up Stubhub or contact SU Ticket Office. SUrprise…surprise, there are plenty of good seats available in the middle deck.

I got some on Stubhub awhile back. I have seen a bunch of games in the Carrier Dome, and it is awful, in my opinion, for basketball. You can get lost in there it is so big, even split up for hoops.

39 DAYS TO GET IT RIGHT (OOC) PLAY

While we often measure success in in terms of our record in league play, tournament wins, and bids received to play in the post-season, let’s not overlook the importance of OOC play. There, the goal each year is not necessarily to win but instead to learn how to win. Based on the all-too-many reports of player injuries, player movements, the number of 2nd tier and untested players, the strength and diverse nature of our opponents, the overall strength of our schedule (believed to be the toughest in the PL), and a coaching staff change, it’s fair to say that Reed and Company will be challenged like never before. Here’s a look at what lies ahead:

      Duration

    : 39 days (11/13 to 12/22)

      Number of Games:

11 (10 D-1 opponents and one against Rochester College)

      Upper Echelon Opponents

    Virginia: KenPom 3, USA Pre-season 5, AP Pre-season 6
    Purdue: KenPom 22, AP Pre-season 23, USA Pre-season 24
    Syracuse: KenPom 33

      Home/Away Split:

4 (yeah, I counted Rochester) / 7. First chance to see first-hand what we have comes on Nov. 19th when Yale (KenPom 115) visits Stabler. Final look comes on Dec. 22 with a visit by Stony Brook (KenPom 88) – just 8 days before hosting Army in PL Game 1.

Average KenPom Ranking of D-1 Opponents:

119.7 (oddly enough and perhaps fitting, Lehigh came in at 120)

Always a good and fun read, here’s a look at our Opponent Message Boards:

Ha. Just meant to stir interest among the casual fans who may stumble across our Board. Not meant to perch to the choir.

90 and others: Who’s headed to Syracuse?

:) Naah, already started reading. Interesting perspectives. Not much of a frontline rotation for at least a couple of weeks. 4 G sets? Dont have much depth there either. JRG may be our option ,certainly a SMALL forward :)

    Syracuse Roll Call ….

I’m sitting in Section 125 Row BB. Going with my 2 boys. We should have some Lehigh gear on. Hoping that is behind Lehigh’s bench, but it may be the Syracuse bench.

HOOPS00 and I, along with some family and friends, will be on hand. Seat location unknown. …tixs being held at Willcall. We intend to meet up at Faegan’s Pub around 4. Stop in if able. If not, we’ll find you at the game.
