Can we move the updated list of recruiting targets forward? It’s time to start deleting.

I’ve always left names and simply noted the committed elsewhere. I think it is interesting to see where guys end up. I updated the list and it is pasted below. I also utilized a strikethrough for guys that are off the table. If I have some time (and people are interested) I could turn this into a public google doc so everyone can update.

Not surprisingly Marquise Pointer has picked up quite a bit of new interest this spring. He’s currently in the top 10 in assists in the EYBL through 16 games and has supposedly garnered new interest from Saint Louis, La Tech, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Western Kentucky, and Ole Miss. I don’t see any offers reported yet, but they are most likely on the way through the summer and Pointer’s senior year. It will be interesting to see if Lehigh is still in the picture and where Pointer ends up.

SBum I had been thinking the same thing in that Pointer playing himself into major conference interest and maybe past a LU level league. Same thing is happening with X Williams out of Ohio as he is gettin major conference interest. We might as well take sharma and Lowe off our list because they are no doubters for major conference landing spot. I think Lydon committed to Cuse? With all this I really don’t know who LU priority is but if we got 4 schollies I pray we get Atleast two frontcourt players.

    So who’s our priority guys?

Doing commuter research on whats the buzz going on with the bigs we have offered to see who else is in on them:
Dugan drawing big ten interest, not sure how real it is but interest is there. Offers from lasalle and Toledo to name a couple.
Ernst offers from northern iowa, drake, south and North Dakota, Sam Diego, and interest from some big ten.
Heldt has Marquette and Davidson offering and some big school interest.
Hibbits, not ton info out there.
Holba, offers from Ohio, providence, valpo, Toledo.
Kessinger, offers from wku, ball state, and Indiana state.
Koontz, Santa Clara and oral Roberts to name a couple.
    Sedore, bucknell.
Paul Thomas, offers all over, Memphis Tulsa weber state.
    Toriola, Wisconsin and umass.
    Walker, utep, brown, Davidson, mercer.

Of search for bigs always a struggle for top inside players . A 6’9 240 banger would be great. I’ll be pleased with a 6’7 210 kid who can rebound, play D and not avg a pf a minute.:)

To continue Hoops post, three other bigs probably playing themselves out of the Patriot League this spring are Sam Miller, Jonathan Nwankwo, and Samir Sehic. All have Lehigh offers and have for a few months, and all have received BCS offers this spring as well.

Really not sure who the priority guys are. One guy I am really high on is Malek Harwell out of Idaho. Back at the end of March he said Lehigh and Boise State were the two schools recruiting him the hardest (http://www.idahostatejournal.com/members/the-scary-thing-he-s-getting-better-century-s-malek/article_049a69c8-b7c4-11e3-bb66-0019bb2963f4.html). He has been injured a bit this spring, but Colorado has entered the picture (no offer yet) and Harwell has a handful of offers from good mid majors (Tulsa, Utah State, Weber State, Boise State). I think he would be an excellent mid major player.

Picking through our list of bigs is actually kinda discouraging. Most seem to be picking up high-major offers that we’ll have trouble competing against.
Maybe some hope for Walker, Nwankwo, or Sehic?

There’s always hope but all three of those guys have strong lists and it’s only the first week of June. Wouldn’t be surprised if the bigs we get aren’t even on our current list.

Sehic’s current offer list I believe is Iowa, New Mexico, Santa Clara, Princeton, Brown, Tulsa, Houston, Rice, and Davidson in addition to Lehigh. That is a pretty tough group to beat.

Nwankwo has offers from Tennessee, Seton Hall, Drexel, BC, Minnesota, a bunch of other mid majors and Lehigh.

Walker is probably the least heralded of the three at this point. He has several very solid mid major offers including UTEP and Davidson, but has yet to score a high major.

One other interesting name is Justin Greason. I can’t find any reported offers, but he has quite a bit of interest from both mid and high majors in the midwest. He has also said that he plans to visit Lehigh this summer in part because of the criminal justice program which is his preferred area of study. The fact that 1) he has no known offers at this point and 2) plans on coming to campus makes him someone to keep an eye on. That said, does Lehigh actually have a criminal justice program?

I’m kinda intrigued with this guy, who TMH recently added:

Sacar Anim 6-5 SG from Minneapolis

He’s not really a big, but it appears that his strength is in attacking the rim. Maybe a 3ish guy, for us?

He still looks “gettable” to me, but is starting to get more attention. Read an article in which he indicated that he’d really like to play for Minny, who are now interested – but haven’t offered.
