LU65,
LU played a good game all around. Looks like the bench got some practice
We are on the same team, just see things differently. It would be nice if there were more of a fan base. Did you or LUhoops00 make the game? Analysis? Areas that need improvement. Go LU!
November 20, 2011 at 12:54 am #397765 – I paid 5 bucks to watch this lu liberty game and it is not working for me..i’m beyond frustrated, did you have any luck?
November 20, 2011 at 4:42 am #3979They got it done!! Good job Lehigh. Liberty, also LU, did not quit. Good team effort.
November 20, 2011 at 2:52 pm #398200, like you I bought the game but was called away at the last minute (wife, ya know – – dinner I forgot about) so I’m hoping I can pull it up on "Demand" once it’s archived by the school. Would have been nice to see (live) the team explode for 90. Impressive stat sheet highlighted by CJ’s 32, Jordan’s 8 for 10 night (after cold shooting 3 for 13 in 3 previous games), starting front line performance (15 of 21 from the field), and Mackey’s 10 point / 5 assist / 1 turnover night. Reed’s post game comment about the team not feeling the job was done by simply winning two down in Virginia was great to hear. Eastern Kentucky won’t be a pushover today. They’re also 2-0 over the last two days. Voice only today / no video. A 4 and 2 start over 12 days would be sweet.
November 21, 2011 at 12:26 am #3988Agreed – love reed quote about team not clapping after win, saying the goal was 3 wins. LOVE IT, that spellls maturity, we didn’t have that last year. This team is growing before us, fun to watch.
65- I went in today to check archives, still nothing, keep me posted if you hear anything….or better yet, I suppose, see anything?

Some numbers that may have escaped you……..

14 players suited up – 14 played, 12 scored, 10 pulled down a rebound, 10 got to the line and scored, 9 got double-digit minutes, and 7 were credited with at least one assistBJ gets his first bucket.
CJ attempts just 6 shots from the field (last year average = 17.3). In fact, no one took more than 8.

MPG up 17% / PPG up 39% / RPG up 11%November 21, 2011 at 3:33 pm #3991Really great weekend for the team. They have shown a lot of resiliency by bouncing back from 0-2 to win 4 straight, and it looks like they have learned their lesson after blowing a 15+ point lead to SJU in the opener. Down in Virginia they didn’t seem to let up at all once they had big 2nd half leads and instead really dropped the hammer to put the game out of reach.
Great to see how many minutes the bench was able to get while still going 3-0. Starting 4-2 with no home games is a really exciting start to the season. 8 days off is a long time and I hope the squad can keep it rolling once they get back on the court. Feeling very positive and optimistic about the rest of the season.
I hope/wouldn’t be surprised if Dr. Reed opens up the PG battle during these 8 days without a game. Let MM know that he needs to bring his A game in every practice and every game because Schaefer is clearly earning the respect of coaches, teammates, and fans very quickly. Hopefully Corey’s emergence pushes MM to fulfill what I believe is his vast potential even quicker.
November 21, 2011 at 4:37 pm #3992Great weekend for Lehigh. They pretty much hammered 2 teams on a neutral court, and comfortably handled Liberty on their home floor. It’s not exactly UNC, Kansas and Kentucky, but nonetheless, a good building block weekend. Nice to see a lot of minutes shared, which you can do in blowout games. Seems like the starting 5 has solidified themselves at this point. MM has picked up his game, although CS is going to push him for minutes all season. JH stepped it up as well, and looks like he holds of AD, and others, for the starting spot. Hopefully, CS and AD can add a spark off the bench for Lehigh on the offensive end. The one area that I would like to see improvement going forward is bigs off the bench. I am hoping somebody among the group of CB, JM and JA can bring a consistent presence off the bench. Somebody who can take up some space in the paint, bring some energy, play strong post defense, rebound, and use up some fouls. Hopefully, they can also add an occasional offensive board and/or put back. But, that is a crucial area for this team to have a lot of success this season.
So, there was discussion of 10 winnable games in a row after SJU and ISU and 4 are down with 6 left until Michigan State. The next game is intriguing with Quinnipiac at home. I noticed they hammered Navy last week, and they beat Lehigh last season. That could be a tough game at Stabler. Bobcats have American before Lehigh, so that will be another interesting game for us to look at. Then 2 road games at Fordham and Cornell, who both won at Stabler last season. So, some revenge games there. Then, I am counting a win vs. St. Francis at home, who look very soft, with losses already to Lafayette, and a 30 point loss to Bucknell. Then Wagner, who look very improved on the road. That will be a tough game as the Hurleys seem to be turning that around with early wins over Lafayette and at Princeton, whicle only losing to UConn by 8 in Storrs. Then a win vs Arcadia.
Would like to see Lehigh play less Northeast conference teams in the future. Would rather see more Ivy games, or games vs. Colonial or Metro Atlantic conferences. Or an A-10 game or two, to get some better early tests. Northeast conference is pretty bad.
Final note, early look at Sagarin ratings:
Lehigh 110
Penn St. 111
Lasalle 115
Wagner 131
Bucknell 135
Drexel 137
Penn 150
Princeton 183
Quinnipiac 188
American 190
Cornell 226
Lafayette 262Early, but very positive.
