The Red Flash playing their 5th and final PL opponent of the year earned a remarkable win over American University on Friday evening. The Eagles had been on an 8-game winning streak having recently downed a 7-3 St. Joseph’s (Ken Pomeroy ranked 70) squad. Perhaps Hinkle (PL leading scorer with just 10 points in 32 minutes) and Company were looking ahead to their upcoming clashes with Georgetown and Villanova. Whatever the reason, congrats to SFU – a team that had previously fallen to Lafayette, Bucknell, Colgate, and Lehigh by an average margin of 15 points. And, the Red Flash did it without jr. pg, Chris Johnson, dismissed from the team for an undisclosed rules violation.
