6’3 228 Jensen Beach Fl. 2 time Fl St wrestling champ. Will forego wrestling this season
December 11, 2014 at 11:13 pm #17164Florida isnt exactly PA when it comes to Wrestling, but good to get another guy with size- espeically 6-3!
December 11, 2014 at 11:15 pm #17165True but it aint Maine either.
December 11, 2014 at 11:27 pm #17166Some stats
101 Ts,35TFLs,31sacks.
Wrestling. Per his recent tweet appears Cbris will wrestle this year. SouthEastern Wrestling ranks him tbe #1 220.lber in their area ,which includes Fl,Ga,Ala,NCar,SCar,and Tenn.December 11, 2014 at 11:35 pm #171673*
December 11, 2014 at 11:48 pm #17168December 12, 2014 at 1:10 am #17170This kid may be just what the Dr. ordered,a fast strong kid who can line up effectivly as a lineback and linebacker, perfect for a 3-4
December 12, 2014 at 1:17 am #17172Much like Laub does now. If Laub can be consistent next yr,he and Ripanti and Caslow are an excellent foundation for LBs.On paper ,a lot of depth here. Buskirk,Olshanski and Favoroso look to bolster and perhaps improve group.
December 12, 2014 at 1:36 am #17174The South/Central Florida pipeline strikes again!
December 12, 2014 at 1:55 am #17176Huge get in my estimation. Athletically, he was probably my #1 choice. Right now, he is a good sized linebacker but I would love to see him eventually put on about 20 lb and play DE.
I would love to see if Olshanski and Favoroso push for PT next year. I love Caslow and Ripanti’s play but they are simply too light to play IL (both are around 210)December 12, 2014 at 2:37 am #17178The wrestling connection is interesting. Last night on RCN the commentators for the Easton/Parkland match noted how many wrestlers were just getting into shape due to football, but that there is a great correlation between football and wrestling in that each sport compliments the other in skill learning. Wrestling makes a tougher player, and football helps the player with his coordination. Looking forward to see this kid in action from what I read.
December 12, 2014 at 12:30 pm #17188Story the other day in his hometown paper (TCPalm.com) says he will not wrestle:
“He suffered an injury in nationals last year (the NHSCA National Championship wrestling tournament),” Chuck Favoroso (dad) said. “He could play football with it, but we thought it would be better for him not to wrestle. … his body has never really had an opportunity to heal. This was a heartbreaker for Chris. It was tough.
“He currently has football offers from Lehigh, Navy, New Hampshire, Penn, South Florida, Southern Illinois, Stetson and Tennessee State and is drawing interest from many other programs.”
Good commit IMHO.
He was No. 5 on the newspaper’s Top 11 list in April, when it showed schools showing interest as Army, Syracuse, South Florida, West Virginia, Yale.
BTW: No. 11 on their list was a kicker who does not need a holder. Check this video out: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152351294760882
December 12, 2014 at 1:48 pm #17191Read that article also but he tweeted that be was coming back after football season. Either way,I w
way I just want him to be healthy come August.December 13, 2014 at 12:56 pm #17212Wow. Nice video. What a steal for Lehigh. Turned down some big time offers and Ivy. I can see this kid stepping in right away. Would be hard to keep him off the field. I hope someone doesn’t flip him by signing day. They’ll be coming for him.
December 13, 2014 at 1:20 pm #17214Always a risk with the really good recruits. Unusual combo for Fl,great football, academics and wrestling. Be appears as athletic as Ripanti and Caslow. Guess Andy is pushing for his goal of better recruits. Need it to continue for the rest of this class.
