Thinking of taking the trip out to Xavier. Combine with something else for weekend. Can’t catch Kentucky or Louisville hoops as conflict with Lehigh, but Louisville football vs Wake Forest looks promising.
September 28, 2016 at 5:19 pm #28422Tix as cheap as $5 to get in building.
September 28, 2016 at 7:59 pm #28424Would love to join you, but distance is too great. At least last year (Syracuse), I was able to double-dip with LU-Colgate Football the next day.
As always, 90, I look forward to your report.
That said, I will try to get up to New Haven on the 17th to see us go up against Yale. Any chance of meeting halfway, Jay?
See everyone on the 20th for our home-opener!

Hmm, here’s the 11/11 to 11/13 weekend schedule for various teams located in and near Cincinnati:
College football
Cincinnati – on road
Miami – on road
Kentucky – on road
Louisville – home on 11/12 vs Wake Forest (time TBA)
Ohio State – on road
Dayton – on road
Morehead State – home on 11/12 vs Campbell, 1 PMCollege basketball
Cincinnati – home on 11/11 vs Brown, time TBA
Miami – home on 11/11 vs Muskingham, 1 PM (D3 opponent)
Dayton – home on 11/11 vs Austin Peay, 7 PM
Wright State – on road
Kentucky – home on 11/11 vs Stephen F. Austin, 7 PM, home on 11/13 vs Canisius, 6 PM
Louisville – home on 11/11 vs Evansville, 7 PM
Ohio State – on road
Butler – home on 11/12 vs Northern Colorado, 7:30 PMNFL
Bengals – on road
Colts – bye weekNBA
Pacers – home on 11/12 vs Celtics, 7 PMNHL/ECHL
Blue Jackets – home on 11/12 vs Blues, 7 PM
Cincinnati – home on 11/12 vs Toledo, 7:30 PM (ECHL)You have surprisingly slim pickings. I think your best bets are that Wake Forest/Louisville football game you mentioned, the Indiana Pacers game, the Columbus Blue Jackets game, and/or the Cincinnati Cyclones game (ECHL), all on Saturday 11/12. Kentucky basketball is an option on Sunday 11/13.

October 18, 2016 at 2:25 pm #28864I had plans for trip north to see Bucky at LU football on 11/5, but friends have backed out. Now thinking of making the trip to see the Xavier game. Anybody making plans to catch something else on Saturday?
Chip – thanks for the awesome research!!October 19, 2016 at 1:38 am #28883Hey, no problem. I plan to visit my brother at Mississippi State at Thanksgiving, in large part due to the fact Lehigh is playing at Mississippi State on Friday 11/25, and I’ve been doing the same thing for that visit as you guys are doing with the Xavier game a couple weeks earlier. I was really hoping to see a Memphis Grizzlies home game, but their only game in Memphis during that trip is the same night as the Lehigh basketball game. On Saturday 11/26, both Mississippi State/Mississippi (at Ole Miss) and Auburn/Alabama (at Alabama) in football are possibilities, though the prices for the Iron Bowl were a little ridiculous when I checked about 1-2 weeks ago.
I also did the “extra game” thing when I went to see the Eagles play the Lions in Detroit 1 1/2 weeks ago; I ended up going to the Toledo/Eastern Michigan game (which ended up reasonably competitive and entertaining) the day before Eagles/Lions.
