Great game. Army took control in 3rd and held on for the W. Key was Army destroyed us in FOs. Total domination. Frosh goalie Kiernan looked very good fpr us. We need a FOGO desperately. We will not be competitive with better aquads w/o being at least close to even in FOs.

Yes, the FO was a killer. Unbelievable we could be so dominated. A lot of season to go. Bucknell went down to HC today and Duke destroyed Loyola. Another hyear to throw a blanket over the PL.

I noticed that #24 Ernst didn’t take any of the FOs yesterday, despite some recent success. Injury or something?

Must be. FOs were the key to the L. I hope his absence is shortlived.

Actually Bucknell beat Holy Cross 18-12.

    Here is what bothers me.
Last year our FOGO was certainly less than spectacular winning about 46% of the FOs. Although not acceptable, it may have been understandable since we were really young at that position with a soph (McAdam) and a frosh (Ernst).
IMHO, Lehigh does the exact right thing and brings in perhaps the best FOGO guy in the country to coach them (Kevin Massa) and we get significantly worse, about 40% success rate.
I said it after losing the FO battle against NJIT, that this is our Achille’s heel. My question is this just a transitional change or a real personnel problem? Is it just the guy in the FO circle or is it the scheme around him?

Have to think so. Ernst has a big upside IMO. Massa has great resume and expect he will get it sorted out. Still puzzled by Army. Even a mediocre FOGO should do better than we did.

Therein lies the problem. It really was not just Army.
We were 9-18 against Duke (OK it’s Duke) and 8-17 against Furman.
Perhaps going against a guy who won 70% of his FO in college can be as much demoralizing as educational :-)

:) Could be. FOs have been bad but figured it was a work in progress. Perhaps it is , just figured it would get better not worse.

Wow. I hadn’t seen the finish, but HC was killing them in the third quarter. What the heck happened?
