MM better get his attitude in order, quickly. With Devon Carter coming in next year, he may find himself out of the starting lineup, permanently. A starting backcourt of CM and DC is a definite possibility unless MM gets onboard with the coach’s game plan, and can control his asst/turnover ratio. DC was recently rated second best SG in State of Ohio, but in reading about him it looks like he spends time also at the PG. His assist numbers and scoring numbers show that the ball is in his hands most of the time. CM, at the next level, professional in some capacity, projects also to the PG. He is going to be too short to cover legit 2s at the next level.January 31, 2012 at 3:15 pm #4653
norcalfan, here is your points/minute (ppm) and rebounds/minute (rpm) analysis of the senior class in Patriot League play this year. Like any other isolated view, it doesn’t tell the whole story, e.g., personal fouls, assists, turnovers, etc.
Senior Class Members
Format: minutes / points / ppm / rebounds / rpm
JH / 157 / 48 / 0.31 / 11 / .07
JA / 114 / 46 / 0.40 / 22 / .19
JM / 78 / 20 / .26 / 17 / .22February 1, 2012 at 12:52 am #4666
Bison – come on man, I love you to death bro, but come on for a second…suspended or discipline, stop hanging on every single word and trying to correct it. Point is this bison, guy averaged almost 26 mins a game last year and started and in our biggest game of the season he played 4 minutes and didn’t start. Yes, prentice had the game of his career knowing it was his game with MM out and the only minutes MM got was to spell prentice as he was dying from playing more minutes then he had ever played in one game in his entire career…so MM was emergency back-up PG and used in emergency situations, aka he was the 3rd quarterback on a football team….so if you want to call it suspension or disciplinary action, I really don’t care, point I’m trying to make is MM did something to piss off reed and staff which had direct correlation to him not playing in biggest game of year. Then, add in laf suspension this year and minor team rule that staff just addressed vs army, and whollah, we’ve got a situation to monitor….
90 – you know i’m riding express on the DC train, but I think he projects more as a 2 guard, with pg abilities, but not a pure pg…you could, play him and CJ in same line-up and have two combos who are capable of handling pressure, but I’ll need to see more of him then I have to give full assessment. His assists do appear to be up this year, but clearly I think DC can immediately get in rotation and steal minutes from AD and SC, but I think if MM has more issues we’ll be looking at CS at the point with DC first guard off bench….love MM, need him to get right, we’re different team when MM is dialed in…and as I said, BU has no answer to him(I notice Bison137 didn’t try to argue that in the bucknell rehash post!)February 1, 2012 at 1:46 am #4673
LUHoops90, there is a big difference between being suspended and sitting out the first part of a game for a more minor infraction. What’s wrong with accuracy?February 1, 2012 at 2:43 am #4674
To me, anyway, what we call it is not the point. The point is he played 4 minutes, 4 total in biggest game of year, averaged 26 minutes a year last year, and those 4 minutes were in desperation time when small needed a blow……he went from starter and 26 mins to desperation 4 minutes…because of an “issue”.
The point some of us are making is that he had some type of infraction, discipline issue, and this is repeat issue now with these two issues from past couple weeks. In total, 3 issues in 1.5 years….February 1, 2012 at 8:35 am #4676
Thanks for the breakdown of stats. My point is that we have talent on this team, not just the seniors. If they play as a team, they win. Can’t say it enough. I don’t care who is getting it done the day we need it, just get it done!!

Interpretation of “coach’s decision”, he did not like the way the kid responded and I am the coach. He cannot win without Mackey and we know it. Respect goes both ways. Way too often, coaches are abusive and hide in practice. Another face appears before the fans and media. Just look at the recent episode at BU women’s basketball. If the kid is being disrespectful, he will not see the floor. If the coach is disrespectful, he continues to coach. Excuse me, MM is not a kid, he is a young man trying to learn how to deal with an older man. Whatever is the beef, let’s try to win ok! MM will be stronger in the end!
