    Just a few tidbits
The only FBS game I know of is Navy I think the lead off the 2018 schedule.
Wilmington is hoping to get a 5th year.
Lehigh will be trying out Q Jones at SS this year.
Apparantly we are getting much bigger. Ripanti is currently at 235.
Cavenas has the early nod at NG. Get this. He is currently 296#. There didn’t seem to be much fat.

Guess Pierce wants to stay inside. Wow. Not surprised with Caveness,296 ,he is an overachiever :). Guess all the other rumored FBS fell thru. Thks T. Bigger and healthier a good start for next year.

Cavenas at NG and Jones at S is very intriguing, but it leaves Laquan without a position if Wilmington comes back. Wilmington coming back would be a huge boost for the secondary, no question, and the secondary would have a lot of experience back there.

Hoping Ripanti is that tackle-eater that I talked about before.

Wilmington a talker,QB s D. Lambert may move up to OLB . We know he can tackle :) If Jones is moved who moves up at CB. Put Lawson back there? Shuffling scares me normally, not this year. Got to get D better. Going to be an interesting Spring practice.

What are the future schedules, 2016 on?

I think all defensive positions ought to be up for grabs in spring and preseason based on last year. I’d hope we recruited some DBs who can step into the rotation.

How can shuffling the same players around make you tons better in the defensive backfield? Wilmington may help, just the same as some thought Robinson was going to make a difference this year. Other than special teams,Lambert has been a question mark. If Cavenas is up to 296,I hope he has lost his baby fat and been working hard in the weight room. We need a stud in the middle. Spring will be almost as interesting as practice in August, when the future arrives.

Little info. LG gave us ’16.Army and Cuse obviously never panned out. An BNEC,acouple of Ivies and CAA seems to be our mix.

Normally I would agree Miller but D has to be improved. Lambert actually played pretty well amidst the chaos. Never a cover guy but he is a tough tackler. He may be better suited closer to the front.Hard to expect frosh to step right in and reasonable that coaches cant expect that. The option is to maximize the talent you have by proper positioning and coaching. Andy opted not to shake up staff. Hope he is right on his evaluation of them. Other than Trey he has brought in lots of good coaches.

“defense has to be improved”-didn’t we say the same exact thing last year at this time? and that was after a 8-3 year. We had better be much better on both sides and hope coaching staff grows also. Last year we did not improve each week, maybe digressed. A work in progress has to get better as the season moves forward, maybe/hopefully this year that happens.

On target D has been very bad for two years. Worse this year. First year dual DCs didn’y help. IMO,actually made situation worse. Last year mass TO in coaches. D got worse. Where to put blame? Think thete’s enough to go round to all. Key now is to upgrade. Last 2 classes Andy did upgrade size and talent. Now to achieve what failed miseranly last year. Get’em to play as a unit consistently.

As far as the DBs, we have Githens,Barrett,Siegenthaler and Redmond. The Sarni kid is out of his league in D1 IMO. The kid that was sick in the class of 2014 was also a DB, not sure if hes playing this yr, but he would be on the level of the incoming class as far as knowing the system. NONE of the Dbs i mentioned above can step up???? Are they going to move them as far as positions???? I think Redmond was the only one above that worked out as a corner, i think the others are safeties. And i think moving Lambert to OLB would be great, hes not good in coverage. But we have SO MANY LBs, are the young pups going to get a shot????

Not that this explains everything but the biggest injury last year no question in the 2014 season was to Wilmington. He would have been the guiding force and strong tackler that this team desperately needed. He’s a big safety that plays like an LB.

If Lambert moves into a hybrid/OLB position, and Ripanti stays inside, that seems to imply Laub is penciled in as a DE. As for CB I have to believe Githens, Barrett, Sieg and Redmond can step up on the other side of Leaks.

Also, we have to believe that it’s going to be a free-for-all audition for the defense in general. From last year’s performance if it were me, I’d say all 11 starting positions are up for grabs. Lehigh also needs depth at all positions on the D.
