January 17, 2014 at 1:00 am #13116I can report on Alston as he is in my backyard. I live close to Life Center Academy. It is a tiny private school, that appears to exist for one reason, basketball. Their head coach is “Never Nervous” Pervis Ellison, of Louisville fame, and former #1 overall pick in the NBA. His son is on the roster. They are a powerhouse in this area, but most of the good teams in New Jersey are in the northern part of the state. Recently, they have built their team with transfers from all over. They play a very good schedule, tons of top tournaments, so I will run up to see him play. They have a couple of good barometer games coming up with St. Anthony’s of Jersey City and Trenton Catholic. Dion Waiters is a recent graduate of LCA.

Great job oldhoops
January 17, 2014 at 1:24 am #13118Bit discouraged that we bring in 4 guys next year to a team that can’t rebound and all are 6’5 or under. Anyway…
Intereting on mccaskill that he got release in April so if he didn’t enroll anywhere this fall it seems odd he has to sit out both this spring and next fall?
On Alston, 90 you have insight on school but have you seen him play, seems he transferred from VA to st Benedict’s and not again to life. He seems to have Been a 15 kid who reclassified, looks promising and pretty long for 6’4/6’5. Good touch from outside and some reported interest from some big name schools. Anyone cut paste that rivals article for the board from njhoops?

January 17, 2014 at 1:39 am #13125I’m wondering how he got into LU? Not knocking his smarts but so many transfers bound to play hell with his studies?

January 17, 2014 at 2:48 pm #13135I hope compliance is very careful with Mr. Alston. It often gets very tricky with so many transcripts to deal with including one from a basketball academy. I would not like to see another Joe Knight situation.
