2 NCAA trips in 9 seasons. Respectable, but not setting world on fire. You have to get something out of the Kempton era.

With the greatest player in the history of the PL – who happened to sprout 3 inches during his sr year of high school and had an unbelievable mentality and drive to get better that is hard to pin as a recruiter. And two other 1000 point scorers in the same class as CJ.
Agree about Kempton. Also, Reed was VERY optimistic about the season in all the interviews and everything I read. Even after Miles transfer and Alston’s injury he was talking about how special he thought this team was. Somehow makes it more frustrating to me.
January 2, 2016 at 5:20 am #24604That sums up my mood SB. Disappointed expectations. The existence of Numerous valid reasons why we are not good right now does not ease the frustration. We basically have a rotation of 6 players. If they all play well we can beat anybody in PL. 4 of 6 play well we can beat some teams. There is no wiggle room for off nivhts from anyone. Tough spot for any coach.
January 2, 2016 at 5:01 pm #24605IMO, this is the first season of Brett Reed’s nine season tenure where the team has underachieved under his watch. When you add in the injuries, I’m willing to cut him some slack.
BTW, Lehigh lost that game against Xavier in the 2012 NCAA Tournament because they collectively, including C.J. McCollum, had a cold shooting night. It happens sometimes.

January 9, 2016 at 2:16 pm #24754There is a reason why there are not many walk ons. Over the past few years several kids that thought about doing so have decided against it because of how the bottom players are used in practice. One was told you are essentially a manager in practice and do not participate. He and several other club players decided against walking on. If you want the kids you have to include them as a player at least in practice.
They did look to add walk ons this fall and had little interest.
January 9, 2016 at 10:09 pm #24755Fire Andy,Brett and might as well throw Cassese in there too. Right? You guys are too funny. Good character coaches are hard to find………….who you gonna bring in at either sport that is better? We got spoiled a few years ago in all sports(what a run), time to work through the tough times but still be a fan.
January 11, 2016 at 4:50 am #24773Last time I looked at the roster it had 8 Gs, 1 F/G (at 6-4), 1 C, 1 C/F/, 3 Fs.
As I understand it, a C and F, both freshman, are out.
Bottom line: Team is playing very shorthanded up top, with three guys over 6-4.
When was the last time it had such a tiny team? Seems like a long time.
Hard to compete at NCAA-qualifying level with so few big guys, seems to me.
January 11, 2016 at 6:53 pm #24779I’m hoping we can get Logie back to Bethlehem before somebody else snaps him up. If Reed moved on, might be a good thing.
Logie at Whitworth
First 4 seasons, 100-18
First coach in D3 history to reach 100 wins in 4 seasons
13-0 this season
Now 113-18Season records
26-4
26-4
23-6
25-4
13-0Coaching in his bloodlines, recruited best player in Lehigh history. No brainer.
