Last losing record was 1999. Fran’s only losing seasons were 98 and 99. Hell of a run. Still a shot at continuing that streak. Up to the ladies.

Game 2
1-1 in the 4th. Boyd on tje mound.
Seems Fran going with same strategy as with Sweeney and Bauscher. A given when you only have 1 pitcher going well. Limited Bucknell to 2 hits so far.

Boyd did fine until the 6th. Now 4-1 Bucknell. Last ups for us to come back.

Into 7th Bucknell up 6-1.
A winning season not likely without consistent pitching. We do not hit well enough to survive that.
I am surprised that our pitching collapsed so severely. All 3 showed great potential coming in. Boyd and Sorem have shown flashes but very little consistency.
Absent a lot of improvement over the off season, next year will not be much better. IIR, there are no pitchers in next year’s class.

Sure but without pitching this team will not be good enough to win enough.Off last season I thought Sorem would step in seamlessly to replace Campbell. She didnt. No clue what happened with her. For virtually all of Fran’s tenure he has had a stud pitcher. We dont this year.

No clue what happened either – surprising turn of events from someone from which much was expected. Physical conditioning? Stress of college life? Who knows?
Boyd is still improving and should be very solid the next two years.

Good catch. I had her as a multiposition player since she just started pitching last year. Reading her bio on LU site, if Fran thinks she can pitch, I guess its so. Thank God.

Based on what is on the web, she is a terrific person on all levels. And, she could make noise early for Lehigh on the field.

All of Fran’s recruits are impressive most every year. All 3 of our current Ps came in with truly impressive HS credentials. Lainey may be a year away. I still think both Sorem and Boyd have the ability. Fingers crossed that they can sort themselves out.
