The Bison are up next. comparative scores don’t help much. The Bision are 3-3 against a much weaker schedule than LU. The only direct comparison is Georgetown, which lost 14-6 to BU and 27-0 to LU.
Who gets the start at QB for Lehigh? Does it matter? What is the situation at running back? Do we have a reliable place kicker?
I look for another defensive struggle, with the Hawkineers coming out on top by 7 points.
Yes, I know, I’m an incurable optomist…. JJH

Pick an offense forGod’s sake and run it.
Do not allow Brown to call anything except his wife.
Is there a law banning passes to TEs or over the middle
Throwing deep into a wind not conducive to my mental health
Walker is our best rb even injured , But did they really expect him, still hobbled by high ankle sprain ,to be able to run a sweep.
I know that there are many varieties and combinations of pass routes cause I’ve seen other teams run them, HELL we used to run them, does Andy think they dont work?No one passed well yesterday for either team. Lum some ill advised throws but wrs rarely wide open. Looked again , they run into coverage. Understand with lack of experience ,both at qb and wr. hard to use options for wrs in Lehigh Air. Burden on OC to recognize D used and call appropriateplay. Brown seems to detest 5-10 yard slants, curls, work the inside of the hashmarks.

Lehigh @ Bucknell EVEN
It sounds about right in this clash of titans, as The Bison go for their 5th straight win at home only to be denied.Colgate @ Holy Cross -1
Go ‘Gate! Looking forward to taking on (I didn’t say "out") and 8-0 team next week.Fordham @ Lafayette – 15
Take the points as the Rams put a big scare into the Leopards.Coen has named JB as his starter. Complete Game Notes to follow later in the day.
October 20, 2009 at 4:04 pm #939Surprised in a way, but I hope time off has helped JB. Intersted to see starters given all the new injuries
October 20, 2009 at 8:14 pm #941Just checked in,no game notes up yet. New starters, certainly, new coaches :?:
October 20, 2009 at 10:04 pm #942Notes up, Clark only change. Apparently,no serious injuries. Clerge was in an ankle boot at Yale ?
October 20, 2009 at 11:38 pm #943notes don’t seem to mean too much on the 2 deep, Campbell was listed on 2 deep for Yale and he didn’t take a snap.
October 21, 2009 at 1:46 am #944Article on us today in TSN on Yale game. Coen quoted as expecting good offense coming out of Spring and that he was embarrassed by lack of O. Recounted what we already know for national consumption. Short but depressing article.
I’m lousy at links. Just go to FCS on The Sports Network
October 23, 2009 at 12:45 am #947I think Lehigh will pull out the win in Lewisburg, but I hesitate to declare how. How Coen addresses the offense from here on in will decide his fate. I would think Sterrett has a real ‘heart to heart’ with Andy and points out that loyalty to his OC is sinking the ship. Major shake up needed to save not the year, but where signs point to where the ship is going. A win over the Bison leaves the team in the ‘enviable’ situation of then going to Hamilton to ‘shock the world’—assuming HC hasn’t beaten us to it.
October 23, 2009 at 3:43 pm #950I like us to go 2-0 in the league with a 14-7 win tomorrow.
I believe our D, gunning to run their record to 13 consecutive quarters of scoreless football, will pitch a near shut out giving up a cheap Bison TD on an offensive turnover (blame it on the weather). Gotta like the numbers (LU posting a +24 lbs/man advantage when on offense and +21 lbs/man when defending the line of scrimmage and assumed relative strength comparisons) of the guys in the trench on what promises to be a rainy day. Here’s hoping the "O" doesn’t get pass happy but instead uses a trio of RBs to pound out a road win away from the angry mop at Goodman.
October 24, 2009 at 12:23 am #951I think LU65 has the score (and the scenario) about right. I was planning to drive out to the game, but given the current weather forecast, will stay home and curse at yahoogroups.com. JJH
October 24, 2009 at 1:18 am #952Is the ‘angry mop’ like the ‘magic flute’?
Couldn’t pass that one up. Lehigh really needs to assert itself with the run game. With such a big weight advantage in the trenches, to not pound the ball at these guys shows either we don’t have the horses to do it or the OC is fantasizing about being in the NFL…
October 24, 2009 at 3:36 am #953According to the latest weather report, the heaviest rain will probably pass over central Penn early afternoon. Hog heaven. Just hope our hogs are better than theirs.
October 24, 2009 at 2:40 pm #954i think Lehigh 21-7 today in the rain
