Thought this was worthy of its own thread. The hot rumor is that he’s out at the Citadel (why? Heaven only knows) and that he’s looking for a job.

Might he come back north and become part of the staff at Lehigh?

The article at this link indicates "and offensive coordinator Dave Cecchini has a line on a job as assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at another school." I thought you were going to tell us that Lehigh is that other school. Please.

I’d be in for 1/100th of his salary. Is there 99 other volunteers?

Seriously, if he has interest in coming back to the Lehigh Valley, he should be escorted directly to LU campus with contract ready for him to sign TODAY. Our defense has been consistently good under Coen’s staff, however the offense has struggled at times. Why not bring back an Offensive Coordinator from one of the most prolific offensive periods in Lehigh football history?

Please, oh please. oh pretty please!! I heard rumblings two weeks ago that the change that occured at "El Cid" involved going to the tripple option and that Cecchini would be leaving and ‘quite likely’ for a northern environ. Guy didn’t want to ‘spill any beans’ prematurely, but I got the distinct impression that ‘talks’ might be occuring with Lehigh. Asst. HC/OC would be perfect.

Article didn’t say whether Ike Collins has become the HC at Widner or whether he’ll be the DC there. I always liked Collins when he was here, as well, and wish him a lot of luck.

Ike is the head coach at Widener. I’m very excited for him…

I’m still floored at Higgins’ decision to scrap the spread and go to the triple option. He tried to put a pretty face on it in the press release, but I have to believe this was forced upon him. Collins and Cech were Higgins’ guys, period, and the fact that they were in effect jettisoned can’t be good.

As bad as I feel for Cech, I feel really bad for Higgins who’s being asked to compete with App State, Elon and company with an antiquated offensive system and athletes whose commitment to military training puts them at an inherent disadvantage vs. players whose job it is, basically, to be great football players.
