“It was on Lehigh’s last trip to Yale in September of 2014 when the offensive line was decimated by major injuries. Several guys were lost for the season, including Short, who was then a sophomore.”

The above is from the LU web site and mentions the disaster at Yale two years back when a number of Lehigh players were taken down and carried off the field with leg injuries – a number of them disabled for an extended period.
Are the same defensive coaches who crafted the Yale approach that game still there? If so, I hope we are prepared for the on slaught of cut/chop blocks that wreaked so much havoc that game and enabled Yale to mount their comeback.

I have images of LU putting up 600+ yards and 55+ points Saturday, and if that’s possible, it should be done.

I hope you are right but that will not happen if Lehigh’s O – Line is decimated early by Chop/Cut blocking early in the game as occurred two years back.
I wonder if the “refs” reviewed afterward wherein Yale’s D lineman and LBers took out the players with blindside cut blocks given they chose to allow Yale to Chop block at will during the game.

Many DL coaches use cut blocks to keep OL off the LBs. A lousy technique at best since the block is essentially a dive at the knees of the OL. The block on Short was a chop. One other that I recall was also. Refs refused to call Y on them.

I forgot. Yale not only took out the starting LU O – line with deliberate chop blocking that game. They also destroyed the career of Lehigh’s top RB at the time who was cut down from the side at the knees. He was never the same and left the team at season end.
Dom B needs to be on his guard tomorrow as he will be a marked man – along with our linemen if the same crowd is in charge at Yale.

Very nearly ended the career of OL Brandon Short as well. That is having a happier resolution so far, though. Lots of stuff about his season so far in the media.
