As you said Miramonte HS is real powerhouse program and I believe Clair was their starting PG both years. She is also from the Cal Stars AAU program, the same one that brought us Peterson, Mann and Pascoe.

15.6 ppg, 205 assists in 34 games with an a/to ratio of 4 to 1.
Sue is craving ball handlers. Both Steele and Rice were termed as steals and gym rats.

Seems so. Hedstrom my be pretty good but both Steel and Rice look much quicker.
Do recall days when Sue had lots of ball handlers but no shooters. Hopefully next few years we find a balance.

Miramonte defeated the 2 X defending State Champion (Div 5) Eastside last night. Here is a part of the write-up

It appears the Matadors have an arsenal of weapons but it would be hard to gauge from Monday night’s performance as 5-foot-5 senior point guard Clair Steele simply took over the game.

Steele scored 37 points, shooting from a variety of locales but mostly from the foul line, where she was a clinical 16-of-18. She may be the shortest player on the team but she’s anything but height-challenged.
