    KenPom Rankings and Predictions

    Lehigh (11-8, 5-3) Ranked #107
    @
    Colgate (6-15, 4-4) Ranked #276
    Lehigh wins by 7 (76-69)

Before putting this one in the Win Column, consider the fact that The Raiders – with a win – can tie us in the League standings at 5 and 4. What’s more, they are riding a two game winning streak and must be feeling confident in knowing that in the past six days they have set down two teams we had trouble with – in fact lost to – earlier in the season: Loyola and Boston U. They rallied from being 15 down to the Terriers on the road (no easy thing to do) and topped the Greyhounds by 3 at home. In that second game played on Saturday, they held Loyola to 49 points on 38.8% shooting to notch their first home “W” of the year in PL play. To add to their confidence, they boast a 6’8” freshman forward by the name of Will Rayman who has been tearing it up of late. PL News tell us he just earned “his second-consecutive Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor and third of the season after averaging 14.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 42.9 percent from the floor during the Raiders’ 2-0 week. Rayman scored a team-high 21 points, hitting a career-high five 3-pointers, and pulled down four rebounds to help Colgate defeat Boston University, 67-58 on Wednesday evening. He added seven points, two rebounds and two assists in a comeback win over Loyola Maryland on Saturday. Rayman is tied for sixth in the League and second among freshmen, averaging 15.0 points per game.” As fans, many of us have bad memories of games played on Cotterell Couirt in Hamilton, New York. Thankfully, our seniors are 2 and 1 in the gym and may “feel it” again as they did last year in their 17 point win up north when TK and AP combined for 30.

If it comes down to 3’s and FTs you have to like our chances.

      From Behind the Line

    LU Shooting 41.1% (6th ranked)
    Vs.
    CU Defense 38.1% (207th ranked)

      From 15 Feet

    LU 75.4% (34th ranked)
    Vs.
    CU 66.8% (261st ranked)

    Standings

With HC’s win over AU last night, Lehigh finds itself in a 4-way tie for 2nd place in the League standings going into Game #9 tomorrow night. We trail only Bucknell and share the runner-up spot with HC, BU and Navy. Colgate sits a game back at 4-4. It can’t get much tighter. My “Wish List” for games to be played tomorrow would include wins by: LC (over Bucky), AWP (over BU), AU (over Navy), and Loyola (over HC). Now that would break-up the 2nd place tie nicely – assuming, of course, we win.

    from their notes:

The Raiders shot 40.1 percent (63-157) from downtown in their six wins, averaging 10.5 treys per contest. Colgate has shot 33.2 percent (117-352) from beyond the arc in its 15 losses,

here’s hoping Andree and Holba smother Rayman and we come home from the tundra with a win and sole second place

Solid win. Holba’s role really diminishing. Nice night for BA. He’s been invisible for awhile.

Took care of business. Tim was huge for us again. Yea I don’t know about holba. I believe Brett said something in pre game or post game about holba confidence hasn’t been great. And something about playing through injury. So I’m not quite sure.

Holba got 9 mins but he did well in them. Still think he will turn into a glue guy who does a little of evefything a team needs to win.
BA and KL had better games. A good solid W.

Seems like from reading box that KR had pretty good night, too. AP didn’t score much, but he wasn’t 2-13 from field, either. Looks like he played well, too.

I thought KR was fantastic. Tons of assists, and his man could NOT stay with him. Drove at will. TK was awesome again, playing like a man possessed.
Also want to point out that Navy loss wasn’t as bad as many felt. They’re playing very well, much better than expected so far.
The table is set pretty nicely right now. BU game is obviously very, very big. Hold serve vs. them and Bucky and things look good.

Todd, you’re so right. The table is pretty well set. The challenge I see is conditioning and injury avoidsnce. Eight guys must come ready to play each night. No doubt theyll be running on fumes in 4 weeks time.

Another “Table Setting” though or should I say wish:

“Win out and hope someone other than us can take down Bucky.” It starts today with a visit by The Bison to West Point. Tip is scheduled for 3pm.
