CU defense looked VERY tough….our O better be at their best.

With Colgate picked #3 in the Patriot League – this win on the road over the #23rd ranked team (albeit early in the season) should help the PL establish some credibility.

CP – Sagarin rating 141 (ahead of Montana and Montana St.)

I watched as well. Ditto, ditto. Colgate looked tremendous, particularly after that kind of travel.

Colgate D looks improved and very stout, their O will be a work in progress with new QB, they could be very good by end of season, Poly way to one dimensional, hard to see them as a top 25 team unless they get some imagination with their O

Good win for Gate, but …

I was not overly impressed with either team. To me, both are very beatable.

Gate always gives us a good game — and will do so again. PL third place is a reasonable assessment.

Let’s see how much Gate’s new QB grows — I like his size — but he seems less shifty than QBs they’ve had in the past. Holland can be challenging if he can get some room at RB, but he’s no Chase Edmonds (I hope).

Gate D isn’t bad, but they seemed to give us some good yards on the ground and some awful completions. I wasn’t very impressed with Cal Poly’s QB, when compared with some of the ones we normally face in PL or OOC competition.
