I like what I heard, including the point about reinstating defensive schemes that were in use during the 2010-2012 seasons. I hope (and presume) that these looks will fit our personnel as my recollection of the profile of those defensive guys was different than the current set.
Overall, I agree with Andy that the O can put points up on probably anybody (NDSU we’re coming for you! ha ha), but we have been a reactive D squad the last 3 years and need to be proactive.
Here is the awesome Defensive Video Highlight from 2004. Worth the watch and would love to have reason for such a video again!

Thanks Hawker. Agree. A ndy restating the plan for 3-3-5 and it looks like we’re actually going to attack more than react. Standard blitz last yr was from a CB. Now seems we are going to use ILBs much like Groome and Pearce.
Totally different defense to do the same schemes with. I really hope for the best, and think we have great pieces to the puzzle. Bott needs to let go off the past and listen to some of his coaches and get up to speed. In 2010-2011 the # of plays/# of tackles were just about even, and we gave up less than 5yds/play. Since then, over 6yrds/play, and have had no players with 100 tackles. The ratio of opponents plays per Lehigh tackle was not good. What does all this mean…………Blitz like a motha and hope your secondary competes. BTW, 20 INTs in 2004 was awesome.
Agree completely M. Think Andy does also given his comments about aggressiveness rather than reaction and new blitz packages.Hope somebody follows your advice. Video isn’t relevant for scheme it is for aggression and swarming. Botts calls the game ?
