What are the thoughts on if and how much LU moves up in this week’s FCS rankings? 5 of the top 10 teams lost this week….
October 15, 2012 at 1:31 am #7074It’s hard to believe they would move up, based on their performance at Georgetown yesterday, but who knows…
October 15, 2012 at 3:19 am #7076Possible, I guess, but I think we might drop in TSN. Coached we vould go up. Strange situation.
October 15, 2012 at 11:48 am #7080EWU and MT State exchange places, we don’t move up there, same with GA Southern and Wofford.
ODU and NDST so highly regarded they probably don’t drop below 9, but possible.
YSU will drop below us, but IL ST might jump ahead of us.
At some point, Cal Poly and Stony Brook could move ahead of us.
Best guess is we stay about where we are, + or – one spot.

Yup, pretty much how I voted.October 15, 2012 at 5:36 pm #7090Well what do we know, coaches have us at #7 up 3, guess the coaches have no patience for a loss even to another top team and TSN has us at #9, up 1. Coaches still have Delaware in top 25, they are like 6th best in their conference.
October 15, 2012 at 6:16 pm #7091A very unusual week for sure.
October 15, 2012 at 6:24 pm #7092Lehigh doesn’t seem to get much love over on Any Given Saturday. Some people even think they should be unranked. But, 7-0 for a team with a Top 20 pedigree in recent years, you have to have them up in Top 10. They look to go undefeated, with probably toughest game v. Lafayette. May get to Top 5 prior to playoffs, but they could be one and done in the playoffs. Very hard to get a feel for them.
October 15, 2012 at 6:50 pm #7093Call me ignorant and not to get too far ahead of ourselves – but what would it take to get a home playoff game?? I was puzzled when we didn’t get one last year and had to travel down to Towson….going into the playoffs last year i believe we were in the top 8 while dominating the league, with our only loss coming to a top CAA team on a questionable call in OT. So what would it take this year……going undefeated?? And if we don’t win the PL and had one loss, do we still even get into the playoffs??
October 15, 2012 at 7:01 pm #7094It is a bid system for home games in playoffs. Hosts usually lose $$. Of course , ncas covered
AGS pretty open dialogue. Most of LU bashing led by frustrated Pard fans. Power conference guys just fiscount PL as a matter of course. No matter the games we win. To them every team on our schedule weaker than ones they play. CAA fans have stopped trashing us. Gee, wonder why .October 15, 2012 at 7:16 pm #7095Thanks Rich – Actually just joined AGS today and was suprised at the hating done on Lehigh (like you said – mostly by the frustrated Laf fans). Just wondering about the home playoff game as I still have a bad taste in my mouth from our last home playoff game against JMU (2004?). I can never forget that 7 play goaline stand @ the 1yd line after that bogus call for excessive celebration after they stopped em’ on the 1st 4th and goal play. WORST CALL EVER
We always play the CAA well – beat Richmond on that miracle FG yearssss back, got screwed in that JMU game (who went on to win the TITLE that yr), put a scare in the Blue Hens 2yrs ago and then got a sweet win @ Towson last year. So i think you are absolutely right you wont find a CAA fan bash the PL or specifically LEHIGH!
October 15, 2012 at 8:20 pm #7096I was there. Hell of a goalline stand. Bad call. Been at more wins in playoffs than losses luckily.
AGS gives us a better view of west and south and what their fans are looking at. NDSU fans a bit tough to take. Same ego trip that Ga.So. Went on after they won Natl. Pards in a real bitch fest over team and their coaches.. Sounds much like we did at the end of Pete and 1st coupla yrs with Andy.October 16, 2012 at 2:13 am #7106Didn’t LU get a bye last year? Bye in that first week is better than hosting a game Thanksgiving weekend when no one will be there. Second week hom2e game would be nice.
Should this team really be No. 7? Seems like they do certainly have something to prove.
That said, I think a culture of confidence is alive and well on South Mountain. It means you do not have to play scared, but you can play aggressively. Sometimes it works well; other times not. But as everyone says, a W’s a W.
