Going to be the most intriguing thing for me this season. MS gone and BA out to injury. Locked in with KR and AP, but who is the 3rd guard on this team, and first off the bench? Shooter or ballhandler?

    Choices appear to be:

    DC
    KL
    TJ

We know very little about all 3 of them. Can they play decent minutes and contribute either with outside shooting, or ballhandling.

Looks like KR is going to get 30+ minutes a night with this roster, so I guess a shooter off of the bench would be nice. You miss a guy like the old CS on a team like this. Solid shooter and handle.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about how the new folks KL & CS have looked in practice? Any smidgen of information would be welcomed. Even an unconfirmed rumor would do.

If I had to guess right now, DC is starting at the other wing. No inside info, just a guess.
KL is the 1st guard off the bench. Before the season is out, I am hoping that Holba emerges as our other wing and suddenly we become deeper.

I wish I had something to share re: the frosh, Jim – I haven’t heard a peep. Really kicking myself for missing coach’s call with the partnership a few weeks back. Likely could have picked up some info there.

I agree with TMH – I too expect DC to be the 5th starter. I’m gonna guess that KL will be first for a “wing” spot, and TJ for KR at the 1. JRG is a big unknown, for me. Would be happy to see him pick up some time and perform as a 3. Whoever gets the minutes, I’m REALLY hoping to see better production from the 5th starter this year. Seems to me that CS was a very good leader and “glue guy” – but we had an ugly production gap, statistically, at that position last year.

I heard from Tom Fallon that carter has looked really good in practice. We will see. Losing the few guys we did hurt. Esp Alston injury. Depth is very light on this team. I think we compete for first place just cuz we have Timmy and Ross but I am not sure we are number one. But then again. I don’t know really how some of these other teams look in pl

Just listened to Reed’s interview from last week on ESPN Lehigh Valley. Sounds like Caleb Sedore could be out this year as well. Reed said he was hurt last week and that a medical redshirt year is a possibility.

I think Carter has to start, and Jenkins will have a chance to get some minutes backing up Kahron. Hoping Leufroy is ready to play from Day 1.

I was wondering if something was up with CS. A big batch of practice photos were uploaded to the hoops facebook page yesterday, and I didn’t see him in any of them. I hope he’s alright.
Depth is definitely going to be a challenge this year. Reading early reports on officiating changes, foul trouble may have a big impact.

Kinda tired of MRI reports. Too many already this year. Hope CS recovers well. Doubt he would have seen much time but likely slow down his developement. MH and DC become rather essential to our PL run.
I wonder whether JRG becomes that wing off the bench.

CS injury could be a blessing is disguise. I think most people thought he wasn’t really ready. So, gives him a year to develop (build up his body), and retains 4 years of eligibility. Leaves us super thin up front, but at least we have 3 legit big bodies. We have to fill 80 minutes at the 4 and the 5, and we have 3 guys to cover those minutes. I think, by necessity, JG, TK and JC have to play 30 minutes a night on this team. TK and JG may need to play 33+ minutes. They really can’t foul anybody, or we are going to be in real trouble.

Going to need JRG to play minutes. At 6’4″ with his leaping ability, maybe he gives you some rebounding. And, desperately need MH to play soon.

I’ve seen nothing from Carter since he got to campus, but now he should be healthy. He is 18-24 months post injury? Hopefully, he can give us significant minutes. Is he a slasher or a shooter? Can he defend on the perimeter? He looked a step slow pre-injury.

Lieb,Sedore and Andree along with Matt do give us some depth.
DC will be OK,I think. A driver fast break guy,if I recall. Seemed energetic on D in his ltd PT last year. Extended minutes this year. Dont know how that will work on D.

Look for DC to start at the 3 as I am hearing KL not ready for this level. MH will probably take over the majority of minutes when and if he is healthy enough. Just an FYI CR started at the 2 in a scrimmage against Holy Family and had 13 on 4/6 shooting 4rbs, 2A, 2stls and 2tos. I think he could have given LU a few minutes this year!

Probably could have pa but,it was his choice to transfer. Same holds true for MS,altho we’re speaking about a lot more PT for him.

I’m glad to hear that CR has found a good landing spot! It might make me the oddball, but I like to keep tabs on the transfers and hope to see them all do well in their new homes.

I was (and still am) hoping that KL’s year at Prime Prep would put him in a pretty good position to adjust quickly to D1 ball. That would be huge for the depth. Lehigh is basically down to 8 scholarship guys this season until Holba gets back.
