Mayes getting up to game speed. We had no O in 3rd. That was the game. With Nick it doesn’t happen. D got worn out.
October 24, 2015 at 8:20 pm #22855Here we go. Plz put your tears on pards’ board.
October 24, 2015 at 8:47 pm #22856`Getting closer to being good. Mistakes,a few bad drops,a few bad ref calls,no O in 3rd. Still in the game at the end.Mayes is going to be special.
October 24, 2015 at 8:51 pm #22857D certainly got worn out after playing great early. Early on, good strategy to stop FU QB from taking off and decent pass coverage, but D could not stop record-setting, big-play day by Edmonds. Is he really that good? I wonder if anyone has ever run for almost 350 yards vs. LU
Mayes showed he has the tools, made some great plays, but also displayed inexperience. Couple of key drops, underthrown passes hurt.
Too many costly mistakes across the board.
Good news is LU really was competitive against FU, and came back well.
Too bad about Nick, whatever the issue was. Any remaining Nick naysayers should have seen today the value he brings his team when he’s in there. (Don’t take that as criticism of Mayes; it’s not.).
Other than late second and most of third quarter O play calling, I thought it was good. Looked like O was trying to be conservative to ease Mayes into O. Can’t get away with that against the FU offensive juggernaut.
October 24, 2015 at 8:54 pm #22858Agreed, RichH on Mayes and refs.
Pelletier’s shoulder pads came out of his jersey on that last long catch and he was called for offensive pass interference? On one of Edmonds’ really long runs looked to me like refs missed a block in back or hold. Campus Insider announcers were surprised by lots of calls or lack of calls, too.
October 24, 2015 at 8:55 pm #22859Agree sunday. Given circumstances today, actually optimistic. Disappointed but injuries happen. Took a bit for Brad to get to spped. Once he did ,impressive even if inexperienced.
October 24, 2015 at 9:00 pm #22860Also missed a Ram hit out of bounds right in front of me. The call on TP was shocking. Just a homer call. Going to watch DVR for a bit tonite.
Tough way to lose. But,team came back.October 24, 2015 at 9:17 pm #22861Box score. 5TOs and 9 PFs. Normally ,we could harp on these as the reason we lost. But they weren’t the major reason. No knock on Brad, who came thru well in the 4th,but not having Nick in the third was the biggest factor. O out of
sync and D on the field too long. Outscored 21-0 in 3rd.-

October 24, 2015 at 9:35 pm #22863Any time you give up 59 points you’re a REALLY bad football team.
October 24, 2015 at 9:53 pm #22864Suck it, buck. Bucky board is right here: we beat you
Fordham is very good, and we gave them a run. Offense designed around option qb, played a pro-set passer in 2nd half.
October 24, 2015 at 10:00 pm #22865No buck, right now we are a team learning how to win. Rams are very good and Edmonds is phenominal. We controlld both in the 1st half. No O in the 3rd,FU took advantage. We played them dead even in the 4th.
October 24, 2015 at 10:01 pm #22866Seriously, Lehigh’s defense is awful. No push up front, awful tackling and some horrendous defensive back play. Teams lick their chops when they see Lehigh on film. Trust me I know.
October 24, 2015 at 10:03 pm #22867And you lost to us anyway. (tears).
October 24, 2015 at 10:09 pm #22868Wow,buck a glass empty guy. Yeah in 3dd saw that.4th D selling out up to the line. Otherwise, you must have been watching a different game.D still has some to go but they just aren’t what you describe. Tackling actually was good as was coverage.

I was generally pleased with the fact that they didn’t quit in the fourth and played a good 1st half. HOWEVER, the defense gave up 35 points in the 2nd half and gave up too many big plays. Edmonds had over 400 all purpose yards. One could argue that good tackling doesn’t allow this. Listening to Andy’s post game interview, he agrees. -
