This might be my best work yet folks, seriously, that is, if I’m not losing my freeking mind here. If I’m right, you’ll love this detective work.
So go onto twitter and check out the https://twitter.com/LehighMBB site…Check out the picture posted from an alum’s house….now look really hard at the picture…do you see anything that is a bit unusual here? Looks like a nice team photo/gathering right….BUT…
Now look at this picture below:
http://www.lehighsports.com/sports/mbball/rosters/displayplayer.aspx?playerid=6579
Now look back at the photo from the alum house, back row next to coach ott and DC….folks, that looks like an old favorite of ours in KM….are you serious? Someone tell me their buying this or am I seriously just on crack after a weekend of two LU losses.
Better yet, KM in team warmups….folks, looks like we have a comeback here..now he hasn’t played in a long time, but he is the big bodied guy we have been begging for…here’s hoping I’m not seeing things, and that KM returns healthy and happy, and ready to play by January.
Holy Cow this is awesome.
November 12, 2012 at 3:26 am #7881I was super high on KM towards the end of his frosh year…showed really nice touch down low in the blocks, and he is 6’11 and 250+ pounds….man I’m just fired up right now boys…KM is back…back…back!!!
November 12, 2012 at 3:35 am #7882KM not on the roster, can he travel? Am I dreaming this? Man I’m so confused.
November 12, 2012 at 4:04 am #7883He is a matriculated student. He can walk on any time he wants.
Great work. Wow. He was never quick but nice skills inside . I thought leg made it dangerous for him to rrturn to hardwood. He would be a godsend if this is real.
Well, I guess we’ll find out. I’ll ask LoRe to ask Doc. May just be a courtesy since squad numbers down ,no extra cost to bring him along. Altho, warmups sway me back to Maybe.November 12, 2012 at 4:28 am #7885That certainly does appear to be KM, however I am witholding any and all excitement until we hear some sort of confirmation. By all reports he had given up the game last year. I’m not getting my hopes up until something official or from the inside that lends some credence to this. It would be fantastic – I will say that.

It’s not quite as simple as that – but in this case he probably could return. When a scholarship player has to give up the sport due to injury, a school is allowed to continue his scholarship without it counting against the limit of 13. If LU has done that, and I’d be surprised if they have not, then for him to return this year they would have to be under the 13-man limit. Further, without an NCAA waiver, he would also have to retroactively be a counter for last season as well.
However, it appears that LU only had 12 on scholarship last year and, unless Staggers was given the unused scholarship for the year, they should be OK for this year as well.
November 12, 2012 at 8:08 am #7889That would be good for LU. I hope he does well. The team will be pleased.
November 12, 2012 at 11:32 am #7890Okay, so it looks like everyone agrees that this is indeed KM, nice. Now, what does it mean, that is what is most important? Could this be reason Dr withheld using open scholy for this year, which seemed insane at the time, it could well be….wow, 6 hrs later, I’m more fired up, but we’ll have to wait and learn what this really is.
I doubt it is courtesy travel, in team warm-up suit!!! He did “retire” per one of local papers last March, but maybe he had the itch again.
November 12, 2012 at 12:46 pm #7892Maybe he didn’t like seeing all the dunks in Waco!

Thanks but was aware of schollie limit. No issue for last season or this. Staggers still aWO from what I can gather. BTW, great win over Purdue.November 12, 2012 at 3:24 pm #7895Definitely KM, although anybody that size in a Lehigh warmup is a plus. 00, incredible detective work.
But, not sure this really means anything. Why is he not listed on the roster? Why would this be such a secret? Was he sitting on the bench at Baylor? Was he in street clothes at Baylor? I never saw him in any huddles during the Baylor game. Of course, Baylor = flight, Pitt = drive.
65, if you make the trip out to Pittsburgh, we need confirmation. By this picture, it is clear he will be in the building. Is he on the bench? Dressed?
He would be a redshirt soph?
We need big bodies or there is no way we are going to take advantage of CJ’s last go round. Obviously, Bucknell, going to be very difficult to beat. For a mid-major, they have some size. I don’t know the strength of Purdue this season, and I think Purdue played without it’s leading scorer, from a story I read, but a win against a program like that, on the road, is a big time statement.
November 12, 2012 at 3:26 pm #7896This is pretty incredible bird-dogging if true. Seems like something I would do.
But, I think that is Dutch Gaitley in the back of the picture, not McCarthy. Remember, Gaitley is 6’9.
With such a thin frontcourt, perhaps the eyes are seeing what the heart wishes to see.
Really looking forward to the Lehigh – Bob Morris game tonight. I’d be inclined to call this a near “must win” for Lehigh as a shot at Pittsburgh with the opportunity to advance to MSG really boosts the non-conference schedule/resume.

November 12, 2012 at 3:43 pm #7898Gaitley’s picture and bio: http://www.lehighsports.com/sports/mbball/coach/bio.aspx?CoachId=871
November 12, 2012 at 3:43 pm #7899Sadly ,I think SoV is correct. Dutch and Kevin are same size with same coloring. Why he’s in warmups another Q. Oh, maybe he has some eligibility left? LOL
Guess we should pull back from the ledge. I’llkeep a tiny bit of hope but time to play Bball.November 12, 2012 at 3:50 pm #7900Considering Gaitley is just a couple of years removed from his playing days (Monmouth and as a grad student at Temple), it wouldn’t surprise me if he is playing in practice. This is something Geo Sanchez, an assistant at Holy Cross under Ralph Willard, would sometimes do when the team was riddled with injuries.
