PL Standings Overview
Lehigh (3-6) sits in 7th place at the halfway mark. Curiously, the three teams below us are oddly enough the three team we beat in head-to-head action thus far (LC, HC, and AU). We’re 2 and 2 at home and 1 and 4 on the road. Our upcoming home games (5 of the remaining 9) will feature visits from league-leading Bucknell and those in close pursuit – namely BU, Navy and Army. We’re also scheduled to close out the year hosting our friends from Easton. Should home court mean anything to us (questionable of late), it’s at least good to know that the schedule shakes out the way it does.
ROUND 2 / GAME 1: NAVY
The Midshipmen come into Stabler looking for a series sweep. Oddly enough, they also claim W’s over the same three teams that we beat in Round 1, namely: AU, HC, and LC. In short, a mighty important game for us as we look to move up the standings and, in so doing, catch Navy.

Navy Coach, Ed DeChellis could only say after the game, “Bucknell played really well….Stephen Brown was really outstanding….They have three guys that could be All-Patriot League First-Team players….We can’t give a team 87 points and expect to win…We need to keep the game in the low 70s and we didn’t do that tonight.” So true, so true, Coach. In looking over the record of Navy wins this year, you find that opponents were, in fact, held to: 56, 64. 66, and 72 – point totals. For more insight into Bucky’s win and the play of Stephen Brown – particularly how he defended Navy’s PG, Hasan Abdullah, I refer you to an article written by Bill Wagner for the Annapolis Capital. See below.
Recapping our Game 1 loss to Navy – a game in which Navy’s Abddullah hit for 17 in the 2nd half – I refer you back to….

To clarify, the “BU” picked by Pomeroy represents the good guys, i.e . the BU from Pennsylvania. So that is another pick of a visiting team.

January 27, 2018 at 12:52 am #33683137, good to have you on the Board. You are correct, The Bison (Bucky) is another visitor pick to win.
Looking ahead a few days, will you be coming to Stabler for the clash with The Mountain Hawks? Interested to meet?!
January 27, 2018 at 5:12 pm #33690I hope we can play up to our talent not up to our form so far.
Bison 137 noted over on Pard board that Lehigh has been playing well under its talent level. I trust his assessment as much as I wish it weren’t true.-

January 28, 2018 at 12:17 am #33698first 5 minutes, 8 points, 2 air balls and 2 turnovers
January 28, 2018 at 12:50 am #33699well if we can hold em to 27 in the second half they won’t get to their season average, yeah like that’s gonna happen
January 28, 2018 at 12:54 am #33700Us play D.
Hope so.
January 28, 2018 at 12:57 am #33701Hell, if we stop the parade of TOs ( yeah N plays D) we could pull this out.
January 28, 2018 at 2:05 am #33704Well we made it exciting. What a night M lose by 2 W lose by 3. And the frustrating seasons continue.
January 28, 2018 at 2:33 am #33705Another heart breaker to witness live. I have come to realize this is who we are. A very young team. With not enough leadership. Who will shows flashes for a few mins at a time. And then they will meltdown for five mins. Get back in it. Break down. Reason for this I don’t know. One guy who I have really noticed in our starting lineup who is barely playing any d. Getting beat backdoor. Getting out rebounding. His defense at times seems like a he’s barely even trying. But we need his scoring. Kyle had a bounce back game. Need this going forward from him. Need to steal one at cross. And come home and take one of the next two.
January 29, 2018 at 1:13 am #33714Still trying to wrap my brain around the final twelve seconds strategy, at home.
The plan, down one is to launch an NBA distance three?
January 29, 2018 at 1:35 am #33715I didn’t have that much of a problem with the shot. I was sitting near that basket and recollect it being about a foot beyond the line with about 4 seconds left. It was an open look and Andres can hit that shot. He almost did. It rattled around the rim before falling out. We got in a lot of trouble trying to penetrate their zone. Lots of charges and turnovers.
Just my opinion. -
