Bucknell (13-10, 10-2) ranked 160th and 1st in the PL
Bucknell wins by 8 (82-74) 75% chanceThree wins in six days! Who would have thought? And, the timing couldn’t have been better with a showdown set for tonight against the Leagues #1 team, Bucknell.
For those who may have forgotten what happened when the teams met for the first time back on January 11th – a smarting 76-82 setback for the Brown and White, I give you a link to the Box Score and a clip from Coach Reed’s postgame comments.

“Bucknell played a good game and for about 34 minutes, I think we played a good game,” said Lehigh head coach Brett Reed. “That’s what you want to see when you come here to Stabler Arena. The problem is, there’s 40 minutes on the clock so in that six-minute stretch, we really beat ourselves. A lot of it was the decisions we made, whether it’s turnovers or shot selection. We emphasized moving the ball and when we did that, we had easy opportunities. In the first half, we had a lot of people going on individual pages and that really slowed us down and gave Bucknell, who’s a good team, a chance to take advantage.”
Just a thought or two…………
Bucky Game One marked just the 2nd time in AP’s 85-game collegiate career that he failed to ring up a basket. I’m thinking he will redeem himself tonight and, with any luck, continue his torrid play of the late which has seen him go 35 of 60 (.507) from the floor over the past six games.
While it may come down to who plays the better “D” tonight, just as it did in SB 50, I’d like to salute the offensive play of our starting five who have, over the past 3 games/6 days, gone on a tear. See ppg numbers below.:
TK 16.0
KL 13.7
KR 12.7
AP 12.3
JC 11.7Yeah, I know it depth, depth, depth. For sure, it has been the case in our losses and may again be our downfall tonight, but for the time being it has been fun to sit back and admire what our starting five has been able to do.
Can’t help but wonder if Bucky – especially their fans – are still wondering how they have could have lost to a team (AU) by 14 that we beat just 3 days later by 23.
Enjoy the game in person, travism. Wish I could be there.
February 10, 2016 at 4:23 pm #25397as to depth, Goldy, Tyler and John Ross have been respectable as of late and Doc has done quite well at managing minutes for starters
February 10, 2016 at 4:36 pm #25398Agreed van. Especially goldy and Tyler have played well. It seems every game about 5 mins in. Timmy takes a seat. Happened again Monday when he had no fouls. Five mins in seems early. Yes LU 65 I’ll be there. Can’t wait. Anyone else making the trip?
February 10, 2016 at 9:22 pm #25408Not this year. Lehigh/Bucknell away is my favorite PL game to attend. Like the arena and the atmosphere, but can’t make it this year. I like Lewisburg as well. Saw a few from CJ era on, and some great games in conference or tourney.
Enjoy it tonight, fingers crossed for a win. For me, the 3.5 hour drive always went quicker after a win.
February 10, 2016 at 10:20 pm #25409Did the same, 90, and always enjoy the atmosphere out in Lewisburg. Let’s keep in touch. Should there be a playoff game out west, perhaps we could organize a carpool out of northern NJ. I remember doing the same a couple of years ago – picking up TMH along the way just off I-80.
February 10, 2016 at 10:23 pm #25410That was an awesome game. Lehigh beat Bucknell at their place without CJ. LU65 managed to get us seats with the parents. At the end of the game, CJ’s father held up a big head of CJ and chanted “We don’t need him”…..priceless!!
February 11, 2016 at 12:43 am #25414Video’s not working for me (listening to radio), but being up 23 in first half is scary. Shows the potential of this team.
Hope they keep it consistent and can get big win.
Good to hear more guys getting lots of important P/T
February 11, 2016 at 1:01 am #25415What a game. I believe I am.one of 4 fans rooting for lehigh down here. Hoping to keep up this pace in second half
February 11, 2016 at 1:05 am #25416Shooting lights-out again, so far. Keep it rolling!
February 11, 2016 at 1:54 am #25417That was fun. Team playing great. Awesome win. Keep it rolling. Now, I really wish I went.
February 11, 2016 at 2:10 am #25418Wow it feels good. Love beating them out there. No video for me either. Some eyewitness posts?

Fun game indeed..
For those having trouble with the video, mine was out for about the whole first half on google chrome. Switched to safari on my iPad towards the end of the first half and worked fine from there on out. Just a heads up for next time, try switching browsers.
February 11, 2016 at 5:10 pm #25428could be overlooked by the offensive output, but Austin did a great job defending Haas, he has drawn some of the opponents best all year and done a great job on them
really proud of those guys last night, almost a perfect performance
February 11, 2016 at 6:31 pm #25437What’s not to like about our performance? Some more takeaways would include:
TK played possessed and seems more ready than ever to carry the load and lead by example. Wish I could have read lips while watching the telecast.
KR is back from whatever was bothering him and has the sweetest 16 foot jumper of anyone in the game these days
AP, as expected, rebounded with 16 pts. and seldom left Haas’ side.
KL positioned himself well on D and pulled down 8 boards while – togheter with AP – slowed down Haas.
JC, quietest of all, played solid “D” and smart (keep the ball moving) Offense, while ontributing a tradmark block and 2 steals.
More ramblings……..
At 2,523, Lehhigh drew the fewest fans for any Bucky PL home game. Waht’s up with that!?
While we’d want to play at home come Playoff time, we’re 4 and 2 on the road this year in PL play. Oh yeah, both Bucky and Lehigh finish the season with back-to-backe road games.
A win over HC on Saturday would give us the all-important series sweeep.
Like what was said in another thread about the “3 on / 3 off” PL Playoff scenario in terms of our short or limited bench. But, still worry about our front line propensity to pickup PFs. Bears close watching – have our lessons been learned?
Thru 13 games, TK leads the League in scoring (18.2ppg) while Lehigh leads the league in Asssits (16.2/game) and FG% (.482) and 3fg% (.427).

February 11, 2016 at 6:46 pm #25440Aside from the love everyone has shared already, KR’s performance in the second half yesterday was stellar. He’s doing all the things that were missing before: drives to the basket, keeping defenses unbalanced, making a great inside/out game with TK. KR made Bucknell pay a bunch of times for collapsing on TK by nailing outside jumpers. When that’s rolling Lehigh is AWFULLY tough to beat.
