Game Notes
LU’s
We awaitCU’s
We await
KenPom
LU (11-14, 11-5) ranked 184th
Winners of 7 straight and have a 5 and 2 road record
@
CU (13-14, 9-7) ranked 226th
Winners of 6 of their 7 home games and earned a series sweep over Bucknell
CU wins by 2 (73-71)Earlier this year, despite a pedestrian effort from TK (11 pts., 6 boards and an ugly 8 TOs) we got the best of CU and won by 9, thanks in great part to the phenomenal play of AP (22 pts./8 boards). We also won the battle on the boards 35 to 24 and I look for us to do the same tomorrow night. What could be our achilles heel, however, will be the “3 ball” (see highlighted stats below). How we defend it will more than likely be the story of the game.

Top Scorers / TK 17.6 and AP 13.4 / Tillotson* 17.3 and Rivard 12.6
Top Rebounders / TK 9.0 and JC 6.1 / Swopshire 4.9 and Rivard 4.6*In case you missed it, here’s Tillotson’s half-court shot as time ran out in CU’s win over Loyola on Saturday.
Much has been written in another thread about the stretch run or the final two games of the season. Here’s still another take.
Today’s Standings
1st BUCKY (12 and 4) at LC and at Navy
2nd LU (11 and 5) at CU and AWP
3rd BU (10 and 6) home to AWP and at HC
4th CU (9 and 7) home to LU and at LC
5th NAVY (9 and 7) at AU and home to BUCKYSimply put, if we win tomorrow up in Hamilton (NY) we lay claim to at least the #2 seed and host a Quarterfinal Round game next Thursday. Of course, an AU win at home over Navy tomorrow night accomplishes nearly the same thing. That is, it insures us a home game (seed undetermined) at Stabler at week from Thursday. Drop this game to Colgate and you begin to worry about a host of possibilities and playoff seedings. Crazy as it may sound, it’s even possible for four teams to end up tied for 2nd with identical 11-7 records. And, don’t forget we could even win it all and capture the #1 Seed. For that to happen, Bison 137 explains it best…………..……
“If the Bison win one, ending up 13-5, and LU sweeps, also ending up 13-5, LU could win via the tiebreaker. For that to happen, LU would need Boston U to lose both of their remaining games (Army and HC, both at home) and for Colgate to win at Lafayette. (Colgate would have already lost to LU for LU to get to 13-5.) In that scenario, LU would take the tiebreaker due to a better winning record vs Boston U and Colgate combined.”Now that we’re all confused, let’s just sit back and enjoy the games tomorrow and Saturday.
One final thought. If you haven’t been to Hamilton, New York, you must stop in and see for yourself the home of the Raiders, Cotterell Court. It’s unique to say the least. This year, it boasts an average PL home attendance of 820 or about one-half its capacity seating. In terms of capacity, I wish we could say the same. But, while not last in PL Home Attendance, it ranks 7th and tops: AU, Loyola, and 10th place Boston U. in that regard.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –With just three games left in the regular season Army West Point & Bucknell (14-1), Lehigh & Holy Cross (9-6), and Navy & Loyola Maryland (8-7) will all begin play in the quarterfinals but the seeds have yet to be determined. Lafayette & American (4-11), Boston University (3-12), and Colgate (2-13) will all play in the first round on Saturday, March 5 for a chance to move on to the quarterfinals.February 23, 2016 at 11:26 pm #25661As of now we already clinched a home game next Thursday correct? If American does best navy what does that do
February 24, 2016 at 12:12 am #25665I think the biggest one to watch is BU. Army is playing them right now, on ASN if you have an affiliate near you.
February 24, 2016 at 12:24 am #25666Yea. Sucks I don’t get that ch. what would a Boston loss due for Lehigh
February 24, 2016 at 12:34 am #25667Gives a 1-game pad over 3rd place, and helps get them out of the way. Bucky swept BU, so I’d like to see them fall as far as possible for tie-breakers.
February 24, 2016 at 12:35 am #25668If Navy loses to AU, they (Navy) would pickup their 8th loss. We on the other hand, even with 2 L’s, can’t drop to the 8-loss level and would remain in the Top 4 no matter what we do over the final two games and thereby gain a home matchup at Stabler in the Quarter-finals. The PL website accuately reported that we have secured a first round bye, but I was taking it a sterp further and saying how we would gain the home court advantage in that Quarter-final matchup next Thursday. I trut I’m right. If not, my bad.
February 24, 2016 at 12:56 am #25669This time of year always gets confusing. To many things can happen. All I know is I’m pretty sure if Boston loses tonight we will lick up the 2 seed and have a home game next thur. I may be wrong as well. Hahaha

15 minutes to go.February 24, 2016 at 1:59 am #25671got your wish Travis, Army West Point beats BU tonight, final score 80 – 71
February 24, 2016 at 2:03 am #25672So we are deff playing a home game next week. I’ll tell ya what guys. As of right now i want nothing to do with army. I watched thier last two games. Scary team. Not an easy out in tourney
February 24, 2016 at 2:16 am #25673Foreman was on crutches at the end of that game, might be the end of BUs chances this year
February 24, 2016 at 2:27 am #25674And we get to see them (Army) on Saturday as they look to sweep. Should be fun.
Fyi…..AWP went 6 and 3 on the road this year in the PL and is now riding a 5-game winning streak. Gonna be a tought out for someone.

Actually, Lehigh has clinched no lower than the #4 seed no matter what happens with any other remaining PL regular season game.
If Lehigh, Boston U, Colgate, and Navy all finish tied at 11-7 in PL play:
*Colgate would be the #2 seed (due to 2-0 record against #1 seed Bucknell)
*Navy would probably be the #3 seed (due to better record against probable #6 Army than Lehigh)
*Lehigh would probably be the #4 seed (due to better record against #1 Bucknell than Boston U)As I noted elsewhere, Lehigh will clinch the #2 seed if they win at least 1 of their last 2 games. They can also clinch the #2 spot if Colgate loses at Lafayette (after beating Lehigh) and Navy loses 1 of its last 2 games.
February 24, 2016 at 10:35 am #25680Gate presents a pretty big starting line up, not sure how well our 4 guards match up, a little concerned about this game
February 24, 2016 at 6:51 pm #25684I’d say we are slight underdogs in our last 2 games.
