CU @ AU – American by 3
LC @ Navy – Lafayette by 4House of Horrors
Picking up on something Hoop00 mentioned in an earlier post, the Hart Center has been just that – a House of Horrors for Lehigh. Our current crop of seniors have won only once in Worcester. That came in their freshmen campaign. Last year, they loss by 6 and in 2011 they fell by 13. If that wasn’t bad enough, a check of the records will show that Lehigh has come up losers in their nine previous visits to the Hart Center dating back to 2/13/02. In fact, the drought could be deeper. I simply got tired of looking through the archives. Perhaps the Game Notes, when published, will tell a deeper and uglier tale.

Checkout his Tweet …….”Whirl pool Wednesday followed by pool workout. Great day today.”Heavy Snow Coming to NE
Nothing like a 540 mile (roundtrip) bus ride on an Easton Coach. Come on, Guys, push the game back one day. Got a feeling those are the same sentiments being expressed this AM up in Hamilton, out in Lewisburg, and over in Easton.HC’s last two
Holy Cross Defeated By Colgate….HAMILTON, N.Y. – Junior forward Dave Dudzinski (Elburn, Ill.) totaled 15 points and eight rebounds, but the Holy Cross men’s basketball team was defeated by Colgate 63-45 at Cotterell Court. Dudzinski hit five of nine field goal attempts on the day, including all three of his shots from three-point range. The Crusaders fall to 10-12 overall and 2-5 in the Patriot League with the loss, while the Raiders improve to 9-14 on the season and 3-4 in the conference.Men’s Basketball Defeated By Army 80-66…..WORCESTER, Mass. – Army forward Ella Ellis totaled 23 points and six rebounds, to lead the Black Knights to an 80-66 victory over the Holy Cross men’s basketball team at the Hart Center. The Crusaders fall to 10-11 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League with the loss, while Army improves to 10-11 on the season and 3-3 in the conference. Soph gurad Burrell led the Crusaders with 14 points, six assists and three rebounds. Senior centr Phil Beans finished with 13 points and three rebounds, while junior forward Dudzinski added 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
Winning Game Plan
Have GK and HG match their “bigs” (Dudzinski and Beans at 6’9″ each) point for point, rebound for rebound while our guards do what they do best….hit 3’s and create our own brand of havoc in the Crusader backcourt. The formula worked well in Game 1 just 26 days ago when we recorded 11 steals (to their 2) and forced them into 15 turnovers. Those miscues resulted in 28 points for us. As the saying goes, “Don’t fix what’s not broken.” One final thing, remember Phil Beans, their 6’9″ Center, can shoot the 3. He’s good for 3 or 4 attempts/game. And lastly, forget the game is being played at the Hart Center.February 7, 2013 at 4:23 pm #9357Another biggie. They have big time revenge in their favor, after being annihilated at Stabler. Holy Cross is playing terrible basketball, but no doubt will get up for this game. Hoops00, how about bringing us some luck this year in Hart? I see this going one of two ways, a 50/50 nailbiter to the last second, or a Lehigh blowout, again. Will definitely feel better about our postseason chances if we can get this one in our back pocket.
February 8, 2013 at 1:24 am #936190- My man, I wish I had the secret ingredient but I’ve seen it all a he Hart Center and it usually isn’t good. This crappy high school gym is a nightmare for us, so I expect a close game….IF…IF…IF the game is even played..we’ll play this weekend but my guess is not until Sunday..now I read LU is coming in early tomorrow pre-storm but we’re forecasted to get 18-24 here and saturday at 4 might no be possible….
February 8, 2013 at 7:44 am #9364LU knows the history at Hart. They need to get keep the flow going. HC also knows the record, may they will be over confident. Good luck and most of all be safe on the roads for all the teams that are traveling this weekend.
February 8, 2013 at 6:47 pm #9367Team has arrived safely in worcester, see if anyone arrives to watch tomorrow if game gets played! Glad team is safe.
February 9, 2013 at 12:14 am #9376With the Governor having officially closed all roads in Massachusetts – and with the snow expected to continue until after noon tomorrow – I doubt the game will be played on time. Even forgetting about spectators, how will referees and workers get there? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it delayed until at least 7 PM if not Sunday.
February 9, 2013 at 1:00 am #9378Agreed 137, it is just starting to pick up out here, snow is heavy and winds are coming on strong…I thought all along that Sunday was going to happn, and as this storm seems to be slow moving, I still think Sunday at 1 is going to happen….I usually always have a good choice of seats either behind bench or under basket, and I’m sure if game is tomorrow I’ll have the choice of many many seats!
February 9, 2013 at 1:29 pm #9386Reporting from Boston, Worcester got smoked, absolutely crushed…they were the “jackpot” of the storm, got about 25+ inches, and was still snowing there as of 7 AM.
February 9, 2013 at 5:47 pm #9387Not at 4pm, maybe later.
And tweet from Lehigh Basketball: “@LehighMBB: Today’s game at Holy Cross definitely won’t tip at 4:00. Planning on 7:00 but it’s contingent on the Massachusetts travel ban being lifted.”
February 9, 2013 at 6:50 pm #9388I just heard that the travel ban will be lifted at 4:00. I suppose 7:00 is a possibility depending on the logistics.
What boggles my mind is the fact that men’s lacrosse was supposed to have it’s home opener today. It is reportedly postponed until tomorrow.February 9, 2013 at 7:14 pm #9389It’s at 7pm tonight!
Off the HC website:
