Game Notes are up!
Of greatest impact may be the fact that both Lieb (6’10” So.) and Sedore (6’11” Jr.) are listed as “key reserves.” Could we finally be getting a chance to see them play. Coupled with Andree, Karnick and Porter. Who knows!
Two games in the books and we have yet to see what many of us were hoping to see, i.e., early signs of hope and production out of our forecourt. Take a look at the 2-game stats:
Porter
24 minutes, 3 of 5 FGs, 2 borards, 1 blocked shot, 5 PFsKarnick
43 minutes, 3 of 4 FGs, 8 boards, 1 blocked shot, 9 PFsAndree
62 minutes, 7 of 24 FGs, 10 boards, 1 blocked shot, 2 PFsSo many questions, so few answers.
Yeah, it may be a looooong season, but I keep telling myself it begins on December 29th when the Leopards of Lafayette come calling. Still time to get our act together.
I know of many who like to follow the exploits of Bucknell. If you’re one, remember that Siena travels to Lewisburg on Monday, 11/20. Always fun to compare stats.
Can’t make it to the game. Hopefully others can and will post their stories tomorrow night.

I definitely don’t know. But both Lieb and Sedore were also listed as “key reserves” for the Monmouth game.
November 17, 2017 at 3:19 am #32945By the way, thank you LU65 for another excellent write up for this gam. It was a thrill and a pleasure to meet you last Tuesday night.
As to the front court injuries, my source says Sedore finally was cleared late last week for full practice mode. He did warm up during Monmouth pre-game, did not play, and may not be ready for game speed yet. Lieb however had to have corrective work done on the original surgery. And during his inactive time there has been some sort of atrophy that will take time to work back from….. Lieb eta, unknown per the source.
November 17, 2017 at 4:21 pm #32947I think we can forget Andree as a traditional “big” frontcourt player. He’s 6’8″, but plays 6’3/6’4″. He’s a wing jump shooter. A good shooter, but he’s not a traditional big. He’s really more of a 3 pt. specialist. He was a jump shooter in high school, and I don’t see it changing too much. I am happy that he has averaged 5 rebounds per game so far.
November 17, 2017 at 8:19 pm #32952Well Andree does try. He has even.been driving occasionally. However, we need another inside guy. Karnik cannot do it alone. Porter nice glue guy. He doesnt hurt us with his PT . He probably should get more at least until Lieb is fit.
November 17, 2017 at 10:03 pm #32953The fate of the team rests in how well the backcourt plays on the defensive end. The backcourt is on the smaller side with three of the four guards measuring around 6’1. The team needs more zone to prevent bigger guards from getting inside and shooting over the top or passing off for easy buckets. The frontcourt guys are doing fine when allowed to stay with their man and will get better as the season progresses.
November 18, 2017 at 2:34 am #3295791-90 in OT. Hell of a W. Tejada and Leufroy lit it up. We cant play D worth a plug nickel but we sure as hell can score.
Exhausting game. Between this and Wrestling tonite I’m beat. Gotta rally for tomorrow.November 18, 2017 at 4:50 am #32958Great win. Something to build upon.
November 18, 2017 at 4:02 pm #32959Spent the night checking scores and texts while at a neighborhood party. Thanks, Jay! By the way, we need you back on the Board. Couldn’t be happier. Particularly pleased to hear of “team” play and of Andree’s and his rebounding totals.
November 21, 2017 at 6:44 am #33003A win’s a win, but Siena’s not exactly a quality team …
Still could be long season.
LU is going to need big games from Tejada. So far this year he reminds me of AP: If he’s hot, LU wins. If not …
November 21, 2017 at 3:50 pm #33009My early positive surprise is Bennett. He rebounds, gets to the hoop, and is very athletic. I agree Tejada has to shoot well. And we know what we have in Ross, Cohen, and Leufroy. But the development of Karnik and Bennett will be crucial if we are to be competitive in league. But first, on to the Trojans! We are a mere 22 point road dog per Kenpom. They are 3-0 and just beat Vanderbilt in OT. Hopefully they’re looking past us.
November 21, 2017 at 4:09 pm #33010100% agree on Bennett being a pleasant surprise. His level athleticism is something the program has lacked over the past few seasons. He has shown a legitimate ability to get to the bucket and finish in his first handful of games that is really exciting. Hoping the recent signing of Wilson brings more athleticism to the wings next year as well.
November 21, 2017 at 6:56 pm #33012Next season we’ll have to keep track of “which Wilson is which???”
November 21, 2017 at 7:18 pm #33014Kinda glad we have that problem jim. An athletic SG and a tall agile Wing.
