    Worth Watching:
Andre Walker’s 43 points on Jan. 14 against Lafayette College are third-most in school single-game history and the most by a Patriot League player since 2002. The total is tied for fourth-most by a NCAA Division I player this year. Walker in the League’s leading scorer averaging 22.3 ppg. He stands 6’0” tall wears #0 and oh yeah, he’ll give ya 34 minutes/game.

Cam Gregory leads the Patriot League in offensive rebounds per game with a mark of 3.4. Consider this: Karnick, Leufroy and Andree combine for 3.5 OR/game. Gregory wears #22 and stands 6’8” tall.

    KenPom Predictions

    LUM (3-5) Ranked 259th
    @
    LU (3-5) Ranked 306th
    LU wins by 7 (80-73)

Elsewhere around the League on Wednesday, KP sees it as…….
    Bucky over N by 6
    LC by 1 over BU
    AU over HC by 4
Last night (Monday), HC topped AU by 3 (60-57). KP had predicted just the opposite.

We currently sit in a 3-way tie for 6th place in the wild and wacky PL. No one, with the exception of Bucky, can seem to get their act together and string together a few victories. Here’s a look at who’s streaking – both good and bad.

    Bucky 7-1….W6
    BU 6-2….W1
    AWP 5-3….W1
    CU 5-3…W2
    N 4-4….L1
    LU 3-5….L2
    LC 3-5….W1
    LUM 3-5….L2
    AU 2-6….L1
    HC 2-6….L1

If you like high-scoring affairs, you’ll probably like this one. Here’s how the teams stand in KP’s National Rankings of 351 D-1 squads when it comes to defending the “2” and “3” point shots.

    Team vs. 2 vs. 3
    LU 311th 258th
    LUM 287th 308th

Our Love affair with the 3-Point Shot reached a new high on Saturday, as we launched 33 from deep against AWP and connected on 14 (.424). That mark of 33 tops by one the number we offered-up against BU on Jan. 8th. We lead the League in 3-point accuracy @ .423 and have a guy named Tajada who hits from three more regularly (58 of 120 or .483) than from inside the arc (40 of 101 or .396). Oh yeah, it it’s 3’s you like, tomorrow night’s game should be fun. It will feature the League’s Top 3 long distance shooters in PL play (min. 2.5 3PM/G) this year, namely: Andree (.536), Tajeda (.500), and LUM’s Walker (.422).

One last note: LUM has not registered a win won on the road this year. That’s 0-11 (0-4 in PL). If ever we needed to defend our home court, it’s tomorrow. We’ll see.

The lack of defense is out of character for Brett’s teams.
    Points allowed per game: 65.2/g (2012-13), 69.0 (13-14), 66.7 (14-15), 69.1 (15-16), 70.7 (16-17)………and this year: 78.9…… even Eastern University scored 70…egad.

Are we that untalented, effortless, poorly coached, can’t communicate new schemes, or is the competition simply that much better than us? Kenpom certainly doesn’t think much of the Patriot League this year. So other than Bucknell, its not the competition.

Due to work I have not seem much other than box scores.. So does anybody have insight on what has gone so wrong defensively so far?

Second question (maybe a better question): Marques Wilson had 26 minutes, 20 points, and lead the team in rebounds (7) Sunday afternoon. Was somone sick, benched, or is someone emerging?

    Focus
if the wheels go off on O for a bit team gets flustered on both O and D. Our zone D is merely an invitation to shoot open 3s. M to M we actually play well but inconsistently. LT has a real aversion to playing D consistently. Zero depth on frontline limits Doc’s options on D.

Loyola seems to give a lot of teams fits one night and look awful the next. With the way we have played I don’t think this will be a easy win. Walker seems to Light us up when he plays us. I recall a few games seems like he was scoring at will. Need to get the win tho. Our defense has been awful. Two starters are a liability on defense imo. A lot of these hugs are just worried about shooting threes. I don’t understand it. Lack of front court help hurts to. Asking a freshman now to basically carry the load. With Sedore backing him up. Pat is not a forward. He’s a shooting guard in my opinion with size. Although he has rebounded better this year. I will be at game. Hopefully we get the w

    OT
TOs by the bushel. And we clutch on FTs at the end. At one point we had at least 5 TOs due to press in 2nd half. As usual we give up big runs.b
Lets hope we can play a good OT.

Only positive is other 2 freshman starting to emerge. We knew JK was pretty good, now others showing. Looking like a decent class. But, current team stinks.

What happened to KL this season? I had him penciled in for 18 ppg this year. He’s struggled.

Doc may coach. These guys dont get it. Watched both games. Bad idea. Both teams clutched. Absolutely frustrated. So much talent, such lousy games.

Hit it on the head 90. Talent on the floor but not a team consistently.

We haven’t been able to beat a press for a few years now. It’s comical at This point. I said going in this was a must win. Well we didn’t pull it out and now are 3-6 in league play. I understand we are young and maybe the talent isn’t all there but we are better then 3-6. Right now I am at a loss for words. I just still can’t believe 6 possessions at one point and we couldn’t get the ball up court five times. That’s bad and needs to be fixed immediately. We must be navy. Must be holy cross. And must take one or two vs the 2 top teams. But the way we are playing we could very well lose the next two.
