The board does a nice job. It would attract more fans and supporters if it changes the heading “Where Lehigh Fans Gather to Gloat” which sounds puerile.
    How about:

Where Lehigh Fans Gather or whatever.

It is very noticeable and is off putting.
If things are going very well, it comes across as arrogant and has an “in your face” tone.
If LU is having a tough time in terms of team records, it makes us look ridiculous. Gather to Gloat, indeed.
There has to be a better way.

There isn’t any other online venue to discuss LU sports, so there isn’t even an option to dicusss somewhere else. But I agree the “gather to gloat” phrase is off putting and maybe even a little juvenile.

I’m mixed on it. Frankly, talking sports ALWAYS includes talkin’ some smack too. I agree that it feels a bit silly if things aren’t going well. But at the same time, I don’t think we want to “gather to moan”. If a rival fan laughs at it when things are going badly, so be it. And I’m lookin’ at you, bison37 ;-)

    Guys,

No offense, but this really seems like “much ado about nothing”.

Stabler Bum. No one is suggesting another venue – just that we remove the “Gather to Gloat” which, I think, is demeaning. I have no idea whose responsibility this is but it should be easy to do.
