Although I rarely look at stats :-), I found some stuff to look forward to.
1.)Troy Pelletier is on pace to break to the school records for receptions and yards that go back to Rennie Benn. If he catches 20 more passes this season, he will be #5 on the list for c/season and he essentially missed 2 games. We have him for 2 more years.
2.)Dom Bragalone has an outside chance to become only the 11th player to run for 1K yards in a season. He will need about 120/g. He too essentially missed 2 games and he is only a freshman. It’s early but he’s on pace to beat Rabih Abdullah’s career rushing mark.
3.)Ed Mish is quietly becoming one of our best kickers ever. So far in his career he has made 80% of his FG attempts and has shown plenty of leg to kick the long ones. He too is only a freshman and yes is on pace to break many of our career kicking records.
4.)Yes, I know Shaf doesn’t throw the deep ball much but he is on pace to be the only QB not named Stambaugh or Lum to complete 65% of his passes in a season. With he and Mayes at the helm, TP will have ample opportunity to re-write the record book.
Of course, all this is reliant on good health. That is the part that none of us can control but it does give us reason to look forward with real optimism. Now to address that pesky defense.
