According to IvyBoard Dave at Yale this week for on campus interview for HC. Not surprised and do wish best for Dave but cant say I’mhappy about it.
January 4, 2012 at 8:03 pm #4422I choose not to believe it! Seriously, the leading candidates at the moment are Bob Shoop, OC at Vanderbilt and former Columbia head football coach, and Don Brown, former head man at UMass. There are a lot of candidates, and it would not be surprising if Dave is one of them.
If anyone from Yale is reading this, he stinks, by the way.
January 4, 2012 at 10:47 pm #4423Why would an IL school want to hire someone from the PL, they know we are inferior.
January 5, 2012 at 3:27 pm #4431I had thought prior to reading IL board that Brown and Kelly were the front runners. I hope you are correct LFN
January 5, 2012 at 5:38 pm #4437Multiple sources telling us that 4 remaining finalists (it is believed that Bob Shoop turned it down) are Don Brown (UConn DC), Kevin Kelly (Georgetown HC), Tony Reno (Harvard secondary / special teams) and Dave Cecchini (Lehigh OC).
Kelly’s name in the ring is fascinating. But it sadly does confirm that Cecchini is indeed a finalist for the position.
January 5, 2012 at 6:45 pm #4440I’m going to root like hell for Brown and Reno
January 8, 2012 at 3:04 pm #4477According to Portal 31 ( Yale blog ), referring to NFL .Yale contacted Karl Dorrell an asst coach with Miami Dolphins. My hope is Dave turned them down
January 9, 2012 at 2:21 am #4483Thanks, that’s all I needed to know to really make my weekend.. To me, HC is a lateral move and I would think Dave would be looking to go to FBS level (lesser conference) as an offensive coordinator that could get him noticed for an HC job down the road. Fingers crossed we have him for a little bit longer…
January 9, 2012 at 8:39 pm #4495Unconfirmed scoop that Don Brown will be the new head guy at Yale.
And Lehigh fans exhaled.
January 10, 2012 at 2:36 pm #4501:x Brown apparently offered job but withdrew his name from consideration as of this AM. Sonofabitch 7%##& . Not looking good for us. I do hope that whatever issues are leading coaches to decline to go to Yale will also dissuade Dave . Iam going to Church now to light a candle
January 12, 2012 at 2:04 am #4514There was a moment where Lehigh fans thought Dave Cecchini was the next Yale coach, after Georgetown head coach Kevin Kelly withdrew his name from consideration.
It was confirmed by Portal 31, the blogging arm of the New Haven Register.
But..
It turned out he was wrong!

Tony Reno to be Yale’s next coach
OK, let’s try this again.
I got burned in a big-time way from a source who confirmed Dave Cecchini to be Yale’s next football coach. However, I apologize for putting that out there before I was able to get a secondary confirmation. That same source got back to me to inform me that he was messed up and that it is indeed Tony Reno who will be named head coach.
Blame him for any heart palpitations in the Lehigh Valley the last few minutes!
January 12, 2012 at 2:47 am #4515Great news LFN. I saw the posts on AGS and almost sh!t. Thanks for the quick correction. Hopefully, this is the end of this ‘daliance’ for this year…
January 12, 2012 at 5:28 am #4517The same guys reporting tha Cecc got the job are reporting it’s Reno, and the announcement will be made THURSDAY.
You trust all these guys?
Keep on praying …
Here’s the story: tinyurl.com/78am36c
I didn’t realize last Yale coach got the boot for allegedly lying on his resume.
January 12, 2012 at 2:44 pm #4520My prayers have, I hope been answered. sacrificing all those virgins did the trick
January 12, 2012 at 10:32 pm #4526The announcement of Reno was made this afternoon. Where did you find so many virgins?
