Not a lot of chatter on Leufroy, so I thought I would share some internet info. He has three stars on all three services (Rivals, Scout, ESPN) which is excellent for a PL player, although his scholarship list isn’t as extensive as a guy like Holba. Leufroy has bounced around high schools (going to his 3rd school for his sr year) a bit and appears headed to a new school called “Prolific Prep” that is designed to offer the best basketball coaching and competition possible. Here is some info – http://napavalleyregister.com/sports/prolific-prep-bringing-hoop-stars-to-napa/article_6e5f1970-3a45-5a9f-b8c6-be5a3090d67e.html.
Rivals says: Leufroy has good strength, handles the ball well and is a dangerous shooter from deep. He can run the point, doesn’t force too much and makes good decisions. It probably isn’t fair to call him a late bloomer because he has been playing at a pretty high level for a while now.
He played for an excellent AAU team sending kids to Arizona, UC Davis, Idaho State, Auburn, Army, and now Lehigh.

October 1, 2014 at 7:29 pm #15833Looks pretty solid in the video. Pretty decent size, good handle, comfortable with the ball in his hands. Doesn’t seem super explosive, but to me the highlight of the video is his jump shot. Very nice elevation, excellent form, and nice stroke. Should be a nice PL player for Lehigh.
October 2, 2014 at 2:12 am #15844SBum, I can take some blame on the lack of chatter on Leufroy as I was out of the country for past week and am late to reply. Love the video love the video. Pretty polished player and I tell you the one tweet on him I saw that made ton of sense to me after watching his videos a couple times was the. “Scores at all 3 levels” because like a lot of HS guys he can shoot the 3 and get to the tin but what impressed me a ton was his mid range game, pull-ups and floaters and good body control slicing through paint.
What strikes me odd is he never did an official? Did he take unofficial? Have we ever had a Lu kid sign before an official visit , not that I can recall.
If we have 3 spots for this class we can absolutely positively not go a guard….or I might lose my mind. We need a 4 man and badly, holding out for Ernst or hibbits. If we have 4 spots and pointer is willing then I would be okay with it as long as it accompanied the 4th guy being a big. Interestingly Kroogs was back in Arkansas maybe putting final touches on pointer if indeed Clemson and withita state are out. Man that would be something.
October 2, 2014 at 2:39 am #15845I don’t know if Leufroy took an unofficial. Off the top of my head, Jenkins committed last year before an official and I know D’Orazio committed pre-official as well (Anthony committed very early). Did Brandon Alston even take any officials since during fall visit season he was still planning on graduating 2015 instead of 2014?
I’m pretty excited about how this is shaping up with Leufroy and Holba. We HAVE to go with a big if this is a 3 man class. No question. I’d be pleased with Ernst, Hibbitts, Walker, or koontz. Don’t know as much about Jech but intrigued.
October 2, 2014 at 9:29 am #15846Just in per Verbal Commits: Pointer to College of Charleston.
October 31, 2014 at 4:43 pm #16371Believe it or not, but Kyle Leufroy’s senior season has already started (I assume because his school is not a part of any league and possibly not even managed by the California scholastic body). His school won a tournament down in the LA area, and Scout had a nice write up on him here – http://scouthoops.scout.com/story/1474561-notebook-diverse-dominion?s=75.
An excerpt:
Watching Leufroy recently for Prolific Prep, it’s clear that Lehigh got an absolute steal. Leufroy’s handle has improved to the point where you now feel confident with him running the one full time at the next level, and his passing ability has only expanded.
He’s grown more and more comfortable running the point guard position and combine that with his scoring and defensive abilities, and you have a guy who should have an extremely successful career at Lehigh.November 3, 2014 at 4:08 pm #16421Another PG? There is no way this kid can be a PG here with the crowd we already have. We have 3 young PG’s already here in KR, MS and TJ. He has to be a compliment to AP on the wing, when he gets here.
November 3, 2014 at 5:03 pm #16422Lehigh90,
He will likely take on CS’s role. You can never have enough wings with great court vision.November 11, 2014 at 4:18 pm #16624Prolific Prep played in a tournament this weekend. This is an impressive array of athletes and Kyle seems to be a co-captain. Check out the video. KL is #3.
November 11, 2014 at 5:13 pm #16627Very nice! A little bit of everything – drive, pass, shoot.
P.s. can we have #11 too, plz? Wow!
November 11, 2014 at 5:27 pm #16629Going against that level of comp every day in practice, I don’t anticipate Kyle having to “adjust to the speed of the college game” as they say. Although a more structured offense and strength will still likely be an adjustment.
November 11, 2014 at 6:07 pm #16633Did some quick research; appears that #11 is Josh Jackson ’16. Shows up as a top 5 recruit in the nation, around the web. Good guy to play with!
November 15, 2014 at 12:28 pm #16693Kyle Leufroy L.O.I. is a done deal. http://napavalleyregister.com/sports/high-school/prolific-prep-s-leufroy-signs-with-lehigh/image_d632359c-07b0-5004-8cac-cfa39d3802de.html
